Homecoming The Amazing Spider-Man 3 General Discussion - Part 8

I doubt we'll hear anything in January unless news is leaked via Variety or EW.

Some people's best case is Marvel making the next Spider-Man movies with complete creative control. Personally speaking my best case is the old producers all gone with an A list director directing a completely new rebooted Spider-Man movie.
Neither best case will include Garfield because I think Garfield has burnt bridges with the people at the very top and there is no coming back from that.

What's taking so long to hear about it? January's already nearly over!

Ha, you got here before me, Raven! I was coming here ready for the announcement already! :oldrazz:

I remember this from last year. Well Happy New Year to all, see you at the summit

Ha! Now THIS New Year's we're waiting for a deal with Marvel Studios! :woot:

Seriously, did they meet yet, did they meet yet...

:woot:

I hope this new year will bring great news for Spider-Man fans, the news that he's going home to Marvel and become part of MCU.

Currently watching TASM 2 on satellite... Just doesn't flow well, so choppy... I'm on the, "you're my path" part before the final battle.

Just imagine the press release statement :D
Sony/Marvel: We would like to gladly announce that we have come to terms on an amazing deal! Spider-Man will finally be joining the MCU! and that's not all.. ladies and gentlemen, meet your new Spider-Man!

Logan Lerman!

I still think there's a chance someway somehow that they'll use the current Amazing Spider-Man... Garfield kills the role, it's gonna be sad to see him go.

Regardless what happens at the summit, it'll be an internal thing and not immediately announced. And even then, they won't have a movie, cast, director etc. ready to announce for months, so it really wouldn't be anything beyond 'Marvel Studios gets Spider-Man in joint deal' until later in 2015.
Well, no one expected Marvel to announce their entire Phase 3 lineup back at that event in November. I wouldn't put it pass them (if they get the rights) to walk away from the conference and a day later tweet a picture of O'Brian/Lerman holding a Spider-man comic. After all, the emails heavily implied they've been planning for this for some time, I'd be suprised if they don't already at least have someone in line to play Peter.

Yeah Andrew was awesome IMO, you could tell he really loved the character.

The year is nearly over already and we still haven't heard anything. :(

If this were 24, they'd have completed the deal, made the announcement and started filming within a few hours.

Your jokes are worse than mine. :funny:

Now......?

I won't miss him one bit. He seems like a nice guy and he's clearly a fan, but he didn't really do it for me as Spider-Man.

Yes, it was ultimately the script and direction that let him down, but the damage is already done.

Even though it will be a shame to see Garfield go, if Spidey films start headed on the right track again, it's for the best.

Yep, Garfield (through no fault of his own) is collateral damage because of this franchise. That being said, Garfield is a super cool dude, and honestly will benefit from not being anywhere near Spider-Man.

If the rumors are true, maybe he can play a different character in the MCU, he'd be an Nova IMO.

I feel the same way.

Hopefully the next guy in the role will be as passionate about the character as Garfield was.

That "consolation" prize is hardly compensation though. It's more like rubbing it in because he'll see another Spider-Man in the MCU while he has to be content playing a much less popular and known character. Best that he just stays away completely.

Regardless of if he plays Spidey or not, evidently he really wants to be in the MCU, so why would he pass up that chance? :funny:

Well if he really wants to be in the MCU in any role, let him play Leap Frog then. :o
