He smashed black cats head against a wall.
So what? She trades blows like that all the time. Spider-Man's had his head slammed into walls so many times he could take out an insurance policy on his noggin. You keep dodging the point. He didn't seriously hurt her. He just roughed her up. She was fine afterward.
As for doc ock Mary jane big deal he strangles her on a cover.
He didn't strangle her on the cover, he did it in the story inside the comic. The cover is just promoting the content of the tale inside. As if you didn't know that.
But let me get this straight; Venom just gives MJ a fright. Never lays a finger on her or anything just scares her once, and you think that's worth mentioning. Ock nearly strangles MJ to death and you fob that off as nothing.
Your blind bias is showing badly now.
And no people don't like venom cuz he looks "cool" they like him cuz he's anti spiderman and is bassically his superior in power not to mention the stories and cartoons involved with him.
Yes, many people like him because he looks cool. It's basically selling another Spider-Man like character, except a dark looking one. It's easy marketing. Raimi discovered this when he researched the character. The kids thinks he looks cool because he looks like an evil Spider-Man. But scratch that surface at there's nothing there.
spidey made a special webbing for doc ock? So what spiderman went to the fantastic four for help cuz he had no way to bring him down. Just becuase you don't like venom doesn't mean his impact on spiderman should be glossed over.
You have this terrible knack for dodging the point. It's not that he had to completely recreate a new webbing formula, it's that Ock had become so dangerous that he resorted to these desperate measures to try and stop him, and it resulted in Captain Stacy's death. That's how dangerous he was. Something no situation with Venom has ever caused.
As for running to the Fantastic Four for help, he's done that with Ock several times. The last time was in the landmark ASM #600 issue. But I can even top that; two years ago he assembled THE AVENGERS to take down Ock in the 'Ends of the Earth' saga.
What's with this style over substance stuff. They literally tried making different symbiotes and villians after venom to one up him so for him to be as popular as he is must mean somthing.
Of course they made more symbiote villains. It's called milking a popular brand. And the ones that they made were even more one dimensional than Venom. Carnage is just a one note serial killer. Look at his most famous story, Maximum Carnage. It's 12 straight issues of Carnage and his clan going around NY randomly killing people and fighting Spidey along the way. Nothing more. It's a classic example of the brainless story telling of the 90's Spidey comics. No wonder it's considered one of the worst eras of the comics.
As for bane? Again so what, venom knows his identity and toyed with his mind causing him to have parnioa and not to mention he couldn't trigger the spider sense. And beat his ass and threatened to reveal his identity to the world. Then made his life a living hell.
Let me tell you the difference between Bane and Venom; Bane studied Batman and figured out his identity for himself. Then he used that knowledge to physically and spiritually break Batman. He actually used the knowledge of Batman's identity effectively.
Venom did not learn Spidey's identity for himself through intelligence or cunning. He was handed it on a silver plate by the symbiote. He has never ever used the knowledge of Spidey's identity effectively. He has never seriously hurt or killed anyone close to Peter. He has never defeated Spider-Man or even put him out of commission for an extended period like Bane did with Batman.
Bane is an effective villain who actually made his mark as a top tier villain by doing something to earn it. Venom did not. He skated to popularity and fame on his looks and powers.
Soooooooo yea this isn't a big deal I won't change your mind.
I didn't know you were trying to change my mind. I wasn't trying to change yours. This a discussion not a campaign to make you change your opinions.
You have hate for the character but that doesn't make him a bad villian.
That's like me saying you love the character but that doesn't make him a good villain.
Mainly just you and others think so cuz he ain't da golden age of comics. Buts it's cool man I can't change your mind. I won't take this any further.
This has nothing to do with the golden age comics. I love The Hobgoblin and he's not from the Golden age of Spidey comics. This is about how the characters are handled, not what period they came out in.
Venom for da win!!!!!
No offense but even that sounds like something one of the kid Venom fans would say.
