I've suddenly lost all hope in TASM3. No idea why, but I just... I just have no faith in Sony to do it.

I may have an idea. The poor critical reception, lackluster BO, no real creativity in telling an original Spider-Man story (we've seen pretty much the same plot points in previous Spidey movies), obvious studio interference on the creative process and occurring during prinicipal photography no less, Orci and Kurtzman, etc. I could probably go on.

Don't get me wrong, I love ASM2. It's very enjoyable. But there's enough reasoning here to lower my expectations, greatly.

I might have missed something, but what were the same plot points?

The problem I'll have with 9 of the deleted scenes is that since most of them are commentary we can't get an insight on what the characters are saying not even some sounds and score to make them intense and beautiful. Sure the acting and scenes would look great and the scenes will be great but it's better that with the DIY d the movie would've been better

The commentary is probably gonna be optional...

Am i the only one that thoughts it was odd Spidey was swinging the way he was when in TASM it was more realistic?

People are gonna have their expectations lowered if they keep screwing around. What we need is some more solid casting, a villain or 2 that can fit into the story like mysterio, great writers like anyone on the list, and not interfering with the directors work. If the third film even fails because of avi arad, Matt tomach, and even Sony screwing around the the creators with their editing then Sony and the producers and even spiderman are screwed.

I believe so, yes. :oldrazz:

Can you name some for me?

Also, like I said if arad, tomach, and Sony screw around with their third film then all hope for the franchise and their box office numbers will be lost. Seriously, with how the two films were originally handled combined with the positive reviews Sony would've been making box office numbers like there was no tomorrow. I know some companies can be greedy and idiotic but why screw around with them if all you ever want to do is to keep the rights? Also a spiderman cinematic universe isn't gonna make it any better

The movie "Looper", and TASM1 (I think... not sure).

Thanks and its great that you told me about looper because that was sloso owned by Sony do if Sony wants to learn from their mistakes they dhod rehire the writers and director of that movie so they can do well in the franchise.

Honestly with the rumor about the postponement I hope we get more good news

I think they abandoned "live action" swinging scenes in TASM2 and just went with CGI which I personally don't mind because the swinging looked better than it has ever done; I loved the influence from Ultimate Spider-Man (game) and how he uses both hands to climb up his webs as he swings.

Nothing's been confirmed yet.

That may be indicative of something. No recent interviews with cast or crew, no opportunities for the press to speculate about a production start, no nothing.

Well, no recent interviews that I know of.

Well, maybe "plot points" wasn't the best choice of words. But it's like we keep getting more of the same in the movies and not anything really original. Villain gets powers. Threatens city. Spider-Man stops him. Then the back and forth, will they won't they with the relationship. I think an original story based on one of the many threads/stories/arcs from the source material is what's needed to bring back the luster to these films. Something a bit more intimate in scope yet still powerful and moving.

What carryover plot points do you guys think should be addressed in ASM3? I for one would like ASM3 to have a central theme covering the five stages of grief: Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance

It's peters road to recovery and the stages of grief are a part of spiderman and if they put that on film and tv it would win so many awards. I really don't want Sony messing around with it. If they want it to be really good then I would love the writers from breaking bad to handle it. If not then let's hope Roberto and Alex do their best along with Marc Webb

Dude, breaking bad may be the best tv series of all time but we do not know whether Vince Gilligan is even a fan of Spidey. Kurtzman and Orci are pretty hit-and-miss but I liked their ASM2 script. Aside from some misses with the villains, I felt that they were able to really capture the emotional resonance of Spidey as a character. If they can bring a lot of that for their ASM3 script, I am on board.

don't get me wrong. i love the script the two pulled and i think they would be able to do well in the third movie if sony stayed away from marc, alex, roberto, and the other cast and crew but i still love to play it safe. that and i love breaking bad and even game of thrones. boy if mysterio takes inspiration from game of thrones imagine how ugly that would've been 0_0
