Because Spider-Man has not learned the lesson of responsibility. He messes around with and practical tortures the car thief. A police officer arrives and attacks Spider-Man because he thinks the Car Thief is the victim. The car thief is let go and later goes onto kill Uncle Ben because of Spidey's messing about.
So that's how it goes? Cool, it actually sounds great.

Its so funny how a lot of people were complaining about having to go through the same origin again. Then we find out that the origin will be different and perhaps more interesting and people are now complaining that they shouldnt have changed it

I'm complaining because they changed TOO much. Look at Ultimate Spider-Man. It radically changes the origin story from the original, Amazing Fantasy, run and still maintains all the core features and moments of Spider-Man.

What's with all these ridiculous Ben death rumors? For the last time...

HE IS KILLED BY A MUGGER. A SET VIDEO SHOWS THIS. RELAX.

That´s the thing, we don´t know how is going to work out yet

Yeah, the action looks phenomenal, the character himself doesnt look like he changed, the cinematography is stunning, yet this movie will suck because of a change in the origin which has already been told and the change seems much more interesting to me. We should be asking for something different in this day in age in movies, if you want to see something comepletely faithful to the origin, go see Spider-Man 1

uuummm i don´t think Radioactive=Geneticaly enhanced and i don´t believe it was THAT faithful to the comics

something interesting from a Webb interview:

Q: Not to get too specific about the trailer, but who was the voice that said, "Did you tell the boy about his father?"

Webb: Oh! [laughs] You'll have to see the movie.

Q: So it's intentional mystery?
Webb:
Yeah.

That proves it, definitely Norman Osborn. If he was David Lowell, a random Oscorp employee, why would it have to be a mystery?

I don't know. I still think it's just a middle man that leads to Norman. I really don't want that guy to be Norman, way too over the top.

Well besides that lol, but SM 1 does seem more faithful in terms of origin where as ASM seems more faithful in terms of characterization

That, or it could possibly be that Spider-man doesn't realize it's Uncle Ben's killer and until he stops screwing around and actually gets a good look at him (ie. that close up shot of Spidey's face in the trailer). Then the cop arrives before he can do anything about it.

No you miss my point, people say they don't want it to happen because it's "stupid" but Spidey is like the most crossed over character in the marvel universe and EVERYONE wants to see it live action, my friend said to me while watching Avengers "I wish Spider-Man would pop out since they are in New York" and if that fight was happening in the comics he probably would have considering the scale. I don't want to see it because it would make good money, I wanna see it because it would be ****ing awesome if done right. And I'm shocked a lot of you so called comic fans don't wanna see it.

I totally agree

True, but If they do the same people were going to say :internet troll voice: BOOOO! Spiderman 1 did the same , this reboot is the same f***ing thing blah blah ; besides is THE UNTOLD STORY

I don't think they made it like this just to be different. Once we see the movie I think that we will see that they really had some interesting fresh ideas behind this

I love how Spidey is flying under the radar, I think the TAS will be great

LOL, the whole point of this movie: it has something that we DONT know what it will happen. It is very mystery for us as fanboy and audience too. We dont know how the origin will work.

Yes the origin will change, so just deal with it, but all we can hope is that they wont change the importance core of Spider man. That is all matter.

From what we can tell, it hasn't changed the core importance of Spider-man but some people are just so insistent that it has.

From what we know, this is pretty much probably how it will go. Since he's pretty much just fighting criminals irresponsibly at first with the vigilante proto suit, maybe that shot in the teaser of Peter sewing his Spidey suit with the wanted poster of Ben's killer is just a wanted poster because he's a street thief on the loose and he wants to take him on. Maybe he runs into him prior as well.

Yeah, I think all people need to know that NO one want to see the same origin all over again....except us. If I wasnt a spidey fan or comic book fan I would tell my friend: **** it, lets see TDKR or Avenger cuz it has something new.

I think that Webb want to show us all that there is an other way to apply the famous quote.

One thing I love about this movie is that it really brings all the science stuff to the front and feels "semi-scifi" if that makes any sense

Yeah I wasn't expecting those scenes where Connors and Peter are in the Oscorp lab working around with the 3D dna stuff. Looks cool and I like that Peter is also putting work into the science stuff.

You know, I always felt there was something off, in regards, to the Raimi films. I liked them but for some apparent reason, they didn't feel like Spider-Man to me. I couldn't put my finger on it but I think you have just nailed it for me. The lack of Peter being a scientist.

Yeah :woot:

I can't even describe how much I prefer Andrew's Peter over Tobey's now

Agreed. And also, this is a nitpick really, but Peter's clothes were kinda weird. And after the first movie, his hair was too. I mean in the first movie it looked pretty natural, but in the next movies they tried too hard to achieve the same thing that it looked like Peter had put his hair like that with hair gel, which made it look way too nerdy for me
