Agreed. And also, this is a nitpick really, but Peter's clothes were kinda weird. And after the first movie, his hair was too. I mean in the first movie it looked pretty natural, but in the next movies they tried too hard to achieve the same thing that it looked like Peter had put his hair like that with hair gel, which made it look way too nerdy for me

Yeah the comb-over, lol. I have seen many people kicking off that Andrew does not look nerdy enough but it just goes to show how out of touch they are. Andrew Garfield resembles a new age nerd. He practically dresses like me. Whenever the word nerd is used people expect it to be similar to the look of Peter in the Raimi trilogy.

Nerds have evolved since then.

Very true

It is like Andrew said that it is cool to be a nerd right now. I am girl and I told all my friends that I am nerd ( not exactly like that). They dig it.

Gosh, I hate to say this and I know everyone has different opinions, but it boggles my mind that people are still skeptical about this film given the footage we've seen. I mean, I can understand if people are skeptical because the story and the acting might not good or faithful to the comics, but in comparison to what we've seen from 3 films by Raimi? Were those films really held that high in regard by so many people?

It's no longer a question to me which one I'll enjoy more. But then again, to me the Raimi films were decent, entertaining flicks. Regardless of the changes they've made to the origin, I think everything looks so much more visually and emotionally exciting. I feel like the characterizations will be much more true to the comics than Raimi's, yet also add a sense of realism to the situations. So much of the footage, the darker tone and vibrant city and the sci-fi element reminds me of the 90s cartoon and the comics, while the emotional elements remind me of Spectacular spider-man. I think if people were able to get over the fact that Raimi's spider-man had organic webshooters, that Peter was forever an overly stereotyped nerd and that Spider-man lacked his quips than this film should be fine. However, if a change in his origin will really bother some people as to not even consider him Spider-man, I think they should just give up on the film altogether and go enjoy the Raimi films.

when all is said and done, they're going to watch this movie. Especially after the third trailer. So who really cares? I'm looking forward to this summer of movies.

This is a good post

if there's a twist in the origin I wont mind. It literally doesn't change anything else about the origin, Peter still learns the "with great power"-lesson, and if they changed the origin so they can do something cool with the story, then it's totally fine. We don't even really know yet what's really going on with Peter's dad

And some people refuse to see that the movie lizard looks way cooler and even different from the promo art, even though any healthy eyed person can see that they clearly differ from eachother! I hate Sony for making the lizard look lame in the promo art, way less people would be complaining if they could make accurate promo art

I have great faith in this film. But I won't help but feel slightly disappointed if Richard does experiments on Peter or himself that Peter inherited. But everything else looks great, IMO. Two more months. I remember when there were two months before TA, and well... look where we are now. :D

It's possible, but it's hard for me to think that with all Marc Webb's shown us with regards to understanding Spider-man/Peter Parker that he would have Richard experiment on his son. Judging from the trailer, it looks like he loves his son so at the very least, I feel like it's something that should happen out of necessity that would 1) end in Richard and Mary's death 2) something that Peter will one day understand

Also consider Richard's philosophy, quoted from uncle ben to peter: "if there's ever anything you can ever do help someone, you should do it".

I'm with you on this one. They're going to see it anyway just like everything else and with the amount of people seeing the trailer this weekend, why worry? plus on top of that, and I've said this before, why let people ruin your fun and rain on your parade? If you're excited for it, forget them and just enjoy this movie during your fourth of July celebration (or earlier for your lucky international cats) and just be happy. I just read an interview Chris Hemsworth did and he said one thing that is completely correct: The negative comments on the internet are the ones that get the most attention. Rest assured, if you're a member of a Spider-Man message board, you will be seeing this movie when it comes out, despite your issues with it because truth be told, you won't know what's what until you see it for yourself. I never understood the idea of people letting rumors deter them from seeing something, which is probably why I never posted on the internet before. When did we all become sheep? I'm a grown ass man and I'll be damned if I'm going to let someone my age, or in most cases younger than me, kill my excitement for this movie. That feeling of seeing this trailer in 3D in a packed theater and hearing them all go crazy for it made me feel like a kid again. Take that feeling, multiply it by two hours and tell me why I would pass that up just because of someone else's opinion

@AbsractPo3tic :up::up:

*salutes* Thank you, general. May you live for a thousand years.

I'm just saying man, I've talked to PEOPLE, not guys hiding behind a keyboard, but had actual conversations with people who seem really enthused about this thing. I love hip hop and go to hip hop message boards and those cats are excited for this movie. There are plenty of people who are so why can't we just focus on that? With any movie, tv show, comic, book, whatever, there will be people with differences of opinions. That's life. I've gone to school with people and work with people that I disagree with, we discuss stuff in a civil manner and either agree to disagree or we find a way to make it work, so I will never let something like that get me down. Everyone on here loves the character. Everyone who comments on trailers and pictures on other sites love the character; we're all spider-man fans and all have our own interpretation of what he means, what he's about and what are his defining characteristics.

I listened to a podcast this morning during my workout and all three guys said they're excited for the movie and are excited that the character of Peter Parker seems to be handled better this time than the last three times. I'm pretty sure there are dozens of people on this site or other sites who feel that Sam and Tobey got the character right, there are others who don't, but you know what? They're ALL going to see this damn movie. At this point, it's complaining and moaning for the sake of complaining and moaning. People complained and moans when batman begins came out or when x-men first class came out..still went to see it. You know what put the dark knight over the top? hate to say it, but the specter of Heath Ledger and his famed last performance. We are a morbid people, sucks but its the truth. I worked at a radio station when it came out and the host of a show was talking about it and she said she wanted to see it because she kept hearing how great his performance was before the movie came out. It wasn't that she wanted to see batman or Nolan's flick, it was Heath's performance, and even with that, fanboys complained and moaned because it was Heath Ledger. "No way could he pull off the joker" "Oh great, the Joker is a homosexual now" blah blah blah.

If ANY of us on here aren't smart enough to ignore the crap on the internet by now, I don't know what else to say. X-Men First Class got a bad rep initially because of the studio behind it and the marketing material and just fanboy bias. Turns out, it's an extremely dope flick and you know why it didn't make MORE money than it did? No wolverine. That's the only reason why. Had Hugh Jackman been in that flick, we'd be talking about possibly the highest grossing X-Men flick to date because of the great reviews, great word of mouth and the star power of the most popular X-Man. This will not be like First Class because Spider-Man IS the most popular marvel character, point blank period. He makes money, lots of it and each and every one of us will be there in the theaters throwing more money at him this summer, whether we like it or not

I was wondering what audience's reaction when the trailer was showing in your movie theatre? Just wondering :)

People clapped and cheered after the trailer for TASM ended.

Well said.

My friend is soo ditz. She was like oh I think it is the same one from the old movies ( Sam's). I was like WTF.

I didn't see it. :(

oh man, what happened? I figured it was attached to every single print of the avengers. Then again, some people I know said the expendables 2 was attached to theirs and it wasn't on mine. I'm going to see it again tonight so hopefully it'll be attached again

Well, I did get there a bit late. I got there half way through the trailer for The Dictator, so it might of aired before that.

For the origin...I'm still iffy with it, even after reading these posts pro-new origin. I was always under the assumption that Peter got bit because of his good ol' fashioned bad luck genes, and now he was just a lab rat for his dad. But, that is only IF it's true. I still hope it's not.

That won't make me hate the film though...as I said, it happened to Hulk and I still enjoy that film.

I din´t see it with the Avengers but they used the Teaser, i hoped bad reactions but all of the sudden the POV part started and People started reacting really well , for me that was the first time i saw the teaser in 3D and it was GREAT!:woot:
