I'll say this much. I don't see Spidey ever being able to match the power, overall, that's gonna be Nolans 'Rises'. That being said though! I truly wish it could! I hope that it's one_hell of a movie! It's gotta be extremely strong in characters! Have a great new spin on the spidey story, that's perfectly executed and fresh. Let the action come OUT of the story. Have loads of tension and an exciting build-up (never let it fall!). Use constant development throughout the whole film.

I so so so hope that Webb, cast and crew will give all the nay-sayers and skeptics the biggest, most painful, most powerful, gigantic force-kick right in their ****ing balls! Afterwards, have those mashed twickle-berries shoved down their throats as they're on their knees begging for forgiveness, screaming "We're sooooorry Mr.Webb, for ever doubting your new spidey film! We get it now! Avengers is a saturday morning sitcom, compared to this kind of awesomeness!"... Let ASM prevail in massive ways! It LOOKS to deserve it!

Ps. wasn't kidding about spidey making Avengers its *****. Story wise, it won't be tough. And Spidey just looks like a much more stylish film, imo.

Just a thing, Spidey ain't Batman. I take Nolan's trilogy almost a drama/epic film, rather than a super-hero movie, because his Batman movies are not really super hero movies. There is a particular tone, etc, which makes the comparison with Spidey completely irrelevant.

Plus this is Webb's second film, he's far from having Nolan's experience, apples and oranges here.

Post like these are completely unnecessary and only facilitate childish arguments. If you're interested in mindless bashing I'd suggest going to the IMDB boards.

Not going to happen here though. If you can't express yourself without having to revert to immature insults towards other films in the genre to make a point don't bother making said post.

Webb said a month ago it was around 2 hours, how can anyone believe that a Spider-Man movie would be 90 minutes long?!

While I do think you will end up being right, nothing is certain yet. I remember this exact same issue coming up with X3, where it was reported that it was 100 minutes long and the fans were outraged because there was no way they could do the story properly in that time. Then the studio and director Brett Ratner came out and said that it wasn't true and the movie was over two hours long. Come release day and it turned out that the report was correct and it was only 100 minutes long.

Like I said, I do think that it will probably end up being 2 hours long, but directors do lie so it would be a mistake to take their word as the gospel. We won't know for sure until we get closer to release.
