I always wanted shocker as a minor villain :awesome:

You know, I don't think Shocker will be in this trilogy, but he would deliver on the action part I think! His blasts would deal some really nice devastation. And he's badass!

He would really fit in a movie where there's another dude around as well, such as Mysterio, Kraven, Vulture or something. One can only hope!

this one is easy: Mysterio
he is even one of Webb's favorite villains, so I bet we'll see him in this series

I REALLY hope Mysterio is in a sequel because he's one of my definite favourite villains and I think he would really fit in these kinds of films. He'd be awesome storywise!

And, you can't imagine how happy I was when Webb said Mysterio is one of his favourites.

But I doubt the action would be as mindblowing as in this one with him. The film would need another villain as well then I think! Or maybe I'm overthinking the whole action thing.

I've never been a fan a Mysterio, and personally shudder at the thought of him actually carrying a movie.

Yes, you're overthinking this a little. It's not like Batman had a mindblowing action scene with Joker and people didn't complain about that so I don't see this as a problem. As long as there's good action, the story eventually comes first

Why not Shocker and Mysterio as the villains in a sequel? :yay:

If they have a good reason being in the same movie together storywise, then it would be cool

After Batman and Robin, and Spider-man 3 I don't want to see 2 or 3 villains in a same movie just because their both/all cool. The combinations have to serve the story

I want to see Kraven in the trilogy. and Maybe the chameleon.

If that would make sense to the story, I'd love that!

Yeah but Batman Begins didn't have mindblowing action either. With this however, I think people expect even better action next time (which they'd obviously get with Green Goblin) and as spectacular action in the third. Which is why I think Mysterio won't be in a movie on his own if he's in a sequel. It would just feel too weird to suddenly have the physical threat downgraded so much compared to this spectacle.

I was thinking of Electro actually. I think he has a big chance. But with him, there would still not be as cool brawling as in here I think. I'd go with Doc Ock, but I'm not too sure Webb or the audience would want him after SM2 since he was good enough there. With this whole parent angle this trilogy takes, I actually think it will be Venom again! :/ If I'm right, I hope Webb & Co makes him really cool.

Yeah, I always thought the chameleon was an interesting character though I wouldn't want him to have chameleon DNA to relate to the story.

I think Peter would be in real danger if those two were around, and they have a real bond, which makes their team up interesting.

True that.

Could easly be a fake name for Norman so it's not revealed until the end...

This. Why would Marc play coy if it was a character who barely anybody has heard of?

I like Masse's Osborn, assuming it is Osborn. And I'm 99.99% sure it is. He sounds cold and has a very creepy demeanor and rightfully so, considering Connors has "failed" him and the truth about what happened to Peter's dad was revealed to Peter. He's not supposed to be all proud and confident 100% of the time.

IMO anyways.

Has the
Cristoph Waltz as Norman
rumor been debunked?

We haven't seen anything to lend credence to it. Especially with the inclusion of Michael Masse in the new trailer.

I love this little quote from Marc Webb, about the use of 3D in the movie:

"You notice, when a subject violates the edge of the screen, it corrupts the illusion. You notice that it's not really real. So we designed it so it would exist within the barriers of the screen and it’s not crossing out of the screen. That helps with that notion that it can come out at you. That's another one of those layers. The other thing is in the movie, you sit on it longer. That's the other part of letting that feel that it is coming into your space"

SOUNDS SO GREAT! He even talks about the help he got from James Cameron on the project. Nice! Remember those seeds from the holy spirits in Avatar? Seeing that on the big screen in 3D was so amazing and beautiful! It was like they really floated right in front of you! But as Webb mentions, the 3D illusion is a bit broken when it abruptly stops when getting to the edges of the screen. Webb gets that, and says here that that is exactly what they're avoiding with the 3D in ASM! He talks about those kind of 3D effects and that they will stay on screen longer, so the audience can really dwell in those moments. Combine all that with the use of all new 3D cameras and them pushing the 3D effect to new heights all at ones! OH YES! This is one freaken movie I'm actually looking forwards to seeing in 3D!!

Michael Massee actually looks a bit like Norman Osborn on his face, but I still think he doesn't strike me as the businessman Osborn we all know and love from that short clip. He looks dirty and maniacal with that hair and those clothes. I know he is a maniac but you get my point.

If you're going to have Chameleon then you have to do him right. Don't make him a mutant or something like that, just have him as a master of disguise. You can spin (pardon the pun) a good espionage angle out of it.

Personally I'm one of those who think Shocker could make a great movie Spider-man villain. I don't think he should be the main villain, but a back up villain. I think Shocker works best as a street level rival to Spider-man and a criminal for hire.

When I first saw this...

Exactly this!

I don't think it will be. I think it's only for the American/Canadian release.
