So who's going to check out this 6 minutes of spidey on midnight Thursday? I'm extra conflicted

I'm not. I've seen enough, especially after the 4 minute preview with Spidey rescuing that kid from the burning car. It's not like I need to be sold on the movie, I'm definitely going to see it, so I'd rather not continue to spoil myself with extra stuff.

That's the side I'm leaning toward, word for word. It's tempting but I can wait

I oversaturated myself with Avengers...not gonna make the same mistake for this movie.

So it seems that they're editing the eyes from off-white/transparent to silver.

The thing on the far left is a set pic from when they were shooting the Hardy's advert. We got quite a few set pictures where the lenses looked like that (off-white/transparent), so I'm guessing they'll all be silver in the actual movie. There's a few shots in trailer 2 where the lenses look how they looked in set pics... I guess they still need to edit them.

It's actually the opposite for me lol. And I will go into TDKR COMPLETLEY spoiler free

With TDKR I cheated a little bit so I know some things, but now I'm avoiding the Batman forums like the plague. ASM I'm doing my best to stay as spoiler free as possible, and Prometheus I am not searching, reading, or even glancing at anything.

Anyone think that the 6 minute preview will be online? I'm not seeing MIB3 in IMAX.

Doubtful. Either way, i doubt it's going to show very much beyond what we've already seen.

You do realize you're in a 'spoiler forum' section of Amazing Spider-Man ??

LMAO

I'm very well aware.

I come to this section to speculate and discuss. Closer to the film's release I'll pull out and wait til after release to come back. I haven't come across anything here that is majorly spoilerish, so it doesn't really matter what section I'm in.

probably a smart move. i was on the dark knight rises board on imdb and some guy decided to spoil the end of the movie where bane / batman climax fight. sucked, but oh well.

I re-watched Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 1 from 2002. The movie is a DECADE old and still holds up very well and has the fun movie experience we got in Avengers. Just a great popcorn flick, but Spider-Man has a lot more emotion than a typical blockbuster. Thats why it can't be categorized next to Transformers. Its a summer blockbuster, but a lot more emotion and character develop which is why Spider-Man is so successful.

So the one thing that stands out when comparing Sam Raimi Spider-Man 1 to the reboot. The character Peter Parker. That is the most important part, imo - is the character of Spider-man. Yeah, the look of the costume, the villain, the plot, all that is important, but not as important as the actual character.

Peter Parker is suppose to be a nerd. And Sam Raimi got the character CORRECT. Peter in the film was very shy and couldn't even speak to girl. When MJ said the comment about his eyes in the cafeteria , Peter couldn't even come up with any response, just smiled - which meant he was terrible with girls. The character of Peter Parker is famous because us nerds can relate to that character. He's one of us! He becomes a superhero. A guy just like you and I. Thats whats so great about the character. Raimi understood that. He made Peter shy , a bit of a loner because thats what nerds are in high school, kind of lonely except for a few friends (Harry). It was perfect.

Now fast foward to the reboot. Here is Peter Parker - with a SMOKING HOT GIRLFRIEND ! Emma Stone ! WTF ? I understand Peter had a gf in the comics, but things they've changed about the character for the big screen was the right changes. Things from the comic book sometimes cant transcend to the big screen. And the Gwen character needed to be added later in the film when Peter gets his confidence. The audience can't relate to this Peter at all. He is witty , charming...That is NOT Peter Parker. "Oh no, small knifes, my biggest weakness...BAMMM". Peter can do that LATER after he gains confidence. Come on, this is not a nerdy Peter Parker. You are killing the character why we love Spider-Man. Raimi's got it right about the character ! He was not witty, charming, sarcastic, and had the hottest woman in NYC (Emma Stone). Please! Guys, seriously, this reboot is a major mistake, a last minute attempt to make money to keep the franchise from Disney. You can't tell the audience "This guy is a nerd and you can relate to......but here is his smoking hot beautiful girlfriend he got in high school!". Not buying it, Sony. Just simply not buying it...

And we get to the web shooter. I understand in the cartoon & original comic , he was scientist and made the web shooters, but that worked for that material, doesnt transcend well to the big screen , imo. Raimi made the correct move by making it organic. It worked well. Didn't take a lot of scenes / dialogue to explain how it works like they have to do in the reboot to teach the audience that this one is different.

And finally the suit just looks awful in the reboot. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the suit in the first three. They want to change the suit to make sure it doesnt confuse the casual audience that this is a reboot and not a sequel to the awful SPider-man 3, but their design just isn't very good looking.

How are they going to tell the audience that this character we can relate to bc he's a nerd when he's with Emma Stone, the hottest woman in the US. Seriously?!? It's a terrible idea.Avengers NAILED the characters - and thank god the studio is being rewarded with billion dollars because they deserve it. They got the characters right and put them in a fun plot. I just have absolutely no faith in Spider-Man reboot at all. Raimi's first two Spider-Man were near perfect. If it aint broke, dont fix it. Spider-Man 3 was terrible, but look how great the character of Peter was in the first two. Raimi understood the character and got it right.

They honestly should have just did a Spider-Man 4 minus Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire. No one wants to sit through another origin story. We want a new adventure / villain for Peter. Smart by going with Lizard. I like that villain, but to reboot the origin, no thanks.

Yeah because Dunst is clearly a wart covered troll:whatever:

Peter is meant to be witty and charming, he just gets bullied alot for the kind of things he's into, so it doesn't come out in the volumes that it does when he's suited and booted ;) . And a lot of the flack came frm Flash which we all know why once we take into account the arc of Flash's alcoholic father. If you think Petey isn't meant to be witty then you're not thinking about the right Petey

Seems more like you're the one that can't be told that you can relate to spidey

It doesn't transcend well to the screen???? It shows his intellectual and innovative side both of which are essential to Peter as a character.

Costume looks great in motion and looks more realistic to what a teenager would design and be able to design

If you're basing all this on having just watched the films, then you should definitely go back to the source and read the comics because you're limiting yourself to just one interpretation of the character and doing yourself a diservice as a Spidey fan with a somewhat flawed understanding of the main character

Oh please...As a 56 year old man, I can relate to anyone as I experienced a lot throughout my time.

But I dont understand this 'realistic what a teen would design...blah blah blah - thats Nolan Batman crap right there. Why does everything have to be 'realistic' ? Its a comic book movie ! i always laugh when people want these comic book franchises more 'reality' and 'more dark'. Ok , we get it..Nolan Batman is God in your world. But it doesnt mean Spider-Man has to be too..I loved the Raimi spidey suit. I dont care how he made it, I care about what it looked like because Im the one watching the movie. Thats something that is so petty for the story.

We've seen the dopey, self-aware, tongue in cheek Spider-man for 8 year olds. Three times in fact.

After that I welcome a new approach aimed at an older audience with open arms.

Who knows? Maybe you'll get another corny Spider-man again after we get our first grounded version. Then you guys can stop crying about not having a fourth corny movie. Boo hoo.

If you want to relate to him, you'll relate to him....that simple. You'll find commonalities somewhere with him if you want to

It's because he's a teenager and he designed it... this isn't like Kickass where you buy it online. It wasn't just going to appear out of nowhere

Nolan's Batman is by no means God in my world, but it's silly to believe that it would ever happen that the filmmakers would just go "na bro we don't want any realism at all. Let's just give him the costume out of nowhere cos we can, like"

You may not care, but there are a lot of Spidey fans that do and want to see him make it because it's a part of the character. It's a part of him keeping his superpowers to himself. Plus having him make his own costume often lead to some funny quips during fights

Hey! On the back of the Marvel Select TASM toy, it said the spider is infact radioactive. His fatger was working w/ radioactivity which could mean he was some how infected w/ radiation and it passed onto Peter....YES! CLASSIC ORIGIN!

Thank Spida man for posting the pics in the merchandising thread!

You're a Schumacher fan...

They look better than the white lenses to me. They remind me of Alex Ross's Spidey:

Personally, I prefer the white lenses, but it doesn't bother me at all, to be honest. The design of the suit has grown on me.

I find it funny that I never had a Spider-man movie catered to my mind-set but there are so many people complaining that this movie doesn't cater them after they got 2 or 3 movies that did.

Cry me a river.
