Hey guys, what's up?) 3 more weeks until I'll see the movie! Wow... it's really hard to believe that this is actually happening. It seemed like only yesterday I was at SDCC'11, observing the 'Amazing' panel, lol) I don't know how all of this is going to turn out in the end, but as a big Spidey-fan and one of the promoters of the movie it's exciting to see what Marc, Andrew, Emma, Rhys & others have in store for all of us.
IMDB is a reliable source now?I saw the new spot on IMDB..it looks like Spidey is spending more time unmasked in this film than Tobey did in Spider-Man 3. Ugh.
I still hate that momentNot really. Even if he does, at least there -hopefully- won't be anything as stupid as Peter's mask being ripped off by a jagged piece of metal.

Well, at least he has more of a reason for doing it. For example, taking it off to reassure a frightened young boy that he's not some bad guy, so he could save him from a dangling, burning car I think is reason enough to take his mask off.
Plus, him saying he's just a normal guy, while also telling the boy to put it on ("It's gonna make you strong!"), shows the Spider-Man persona is representative of how any person of any age, race or gender, by selflessly putting their life on the line to save others, can be a hero. Spider-Man's just the little guy trying to help the other little guy out.
Him taking it off in the Raimi films was just more of an excuse to get face time and more money.
That's no different than why its being done in ASM, they just appear to be trying to have it make more sense within the story.
That's what I mean. In this film, of course he's going to get face time so he can make more money, but they write reasons for why he takes it off (i.e. -- my previous post). It's much easier to digest that way.
Whereas in the Raimi films, they didn't give any reason for it, and it was a blatant attempt at showing the actor's face just so he could make more money.

Same. I don't mind the unmasking scenes in this, they have purpose. Which is more than I can say for the unmaskings in Spider-Man 3.

How is that different from what we are seeing in the trailers??
The amount of time we have seen him unmasked in the trailers is more than the previous trilogy combined!!

I don't mind the other unmaskings in Raimi's Spider-Man, but this one is just too stupid.
