Spider-Man will be Korean-Japanese hybrid, and his name will be Kawashima Kim

I saw the new spot on IMDB..it looks like Spidey is spending more time unmasked in this film than Tobey did in Spider-Man 3. Ugh.

Not really. Even if he does, at least there -hopefully- won't be anything as stupid as Peter's mask being ripped off by a jagged piece of metal.

Hey guys, what's up?) 3 more weeks until I'll see the movie! Wow... it's really hard to believe that this is actually happening. It seemed like only yesterday I was at SDCC'11, observing the 'Amazing' panel, lol) I don't know how all of this is going to turn out in the end, but as a big Spidey-fan and one of the promoters of the movie it's exciting to see what Marc, Andrew, Emma, Rhys & others have in store for all of us.

Wow, that's awesome you get to see the movie in 3 weeks. I hope you'll be able to tip us off on whether or not it's worthy, even if you can't get into detail.

By the way, do you work for the entertainment industry as a promoter? Sorry, I'm kind of new to SHH, and I'm always reading "RIM said this" or "RIM saw that". Just wondering how you get your access?

Thanks a bunch, can't wait to hear your reactions!

IMDB is a reliable source now?

I still hate that moment

Same. I don't mind the unmasking scenes in this, they have purpose. Which is more than I can say for the unmaskings in Spider-Man 3.

Well, at least he has more of a reason for doing it. For example, taking it off to reassure a frightened young boy that he's not some bad guy, so he could save him from a dangling, burning car I think is reason enough to take his mask off.

Plus, him saying he's just a normal guy, while also telling the boy to put it on ("It's gonna make you strong!"), shows the Spider-Man persona is representative of how any person of any age, race or gender, by selflessly putting their life on the line to save others, can be a hero. Spider-Man's just the little guy trying to help the other little guy out.

Him taking it off in the Raimi films was just more of an excuse to get face time and more money.

That's no different than why its being done in ASM, they just appear to be trying to have it make more sense within the story.

That's what I mean. In this film, of course he's going to get face time so he can make more money, but they write reasons for why he takes it off (i.e. -- my previous post). It's much easier to digest that way.

Whereas in the Raimi films, they didn't give any reason for it, and it was a blatant attempt at showing the actor's face just so he could make more money.

I get what you mean, but now that I'm actually thinking about it, they had several decent reasons in the Raimi films:

SM1 - Spidey hiding from Norman in his apt - he was trying to change into his street clothes when everyone came in his room
SM1 - Spidey's mask gets torn to shreds in the final GG fight - this actually happens in the comics all the time

SM2 - His mask get's burned during the train fight - I wouldn't want to wear a flaming mask either (though i get peoples issue with the fact that everyone saw his face)
SM2 - get's unmasked by Harry - Harry needed to find out Peter's secret
SM2 - takes off his mask to get Doc Ock to know who he is in order to clear Ock's head

SM3 - takes off his mask to get the sand out of it after a fight with Sandman
SM3 - rips mask of why trying to get out of the symbiote suit
SM3 - mask is knocked off during battle with Venom - this one is DUMB.
(i think there are more in this movie, but i can't recall)

It rips his mask off but doesn't rip his face off (not literally rip off his entire face, but do some damage at least)? Yeah, lol, that's totally not dumb.

I don't mind the other unmaskings in Raimi's Spider-Man, but this one is just too stupid.

He wasnt unmasked a lot of time in SM3,and they were believable unmaskings, which is something I wont say about TASM from what I see from the trailers

Though you have to wonder what kind of superhero loses his mask that much.

Put a mask on a mannequin head and take a pipe to it. I'll bet you $1000 dollars you're aren't able to knock the mask off.

How is that different from what we are seeing in the trailers??

The amount of time we have seen him unmasked in the trailers is more than the previous trilogy combined!!

Please tell me where didnt they have legitimate reason?

So a supervillian ripping it off with a weapon is unbelivable but it is very beleivable for normal police to do that to the new guy??

I always thought why have him unmasked to have more face time when that's what Peter Parker is for. lol But anyway, as long there's a good reason and it seems plausible in the story, then I see no problem with it. Just don't overdo it.

Its also stupid to get unmasked by police just to fire up after that and start flipping them around

Why didnt he do that before getting unmasked?
