I think that's reaching a little bit...Bane has always been one of Batman's greatest villains...he was just handled very poorly on the big screen. Shocker isn't exactly on Spidey's A-list, imo....that isn't to say he can't be made into a good presence on screen...I just don't think he has "main villain" potential.
He can, dude made his stuff in prison, his mind could be as Iron Man in being advanced, to a degree Spdiey can handle but still be a legitimate threat

Lol.

Well, I wouldn't be "shocked" either, but to say he could be Spidey's version of Bane in a third film...I just don't know. I mean, with the proper adaptation and writing, perhaps. But Shocker only has those gauntlets. Fix that problem and Spidey wins that match. Unless they make Peter that dumb and only figuring out how to defeat Shocker at the final battle.

I'm not sure I agree with the Bane comparison. Bane is a much tougher opponent for Bats than Shocker to Spidey in his current form. However, should they choose to continue with this organic, cross-species type theme for the villains, I could see them making Shocker into a hybrid type villain with natural electric powers/properties and therefore making him a much tougher opponent.

.

GG is more sensible to use in this new trilogy with the tie-ins to OsCorp, but why would you pick Venom and not GG?

Plus...no to Punisher. Just...heck no. Punisher is a hero.

Not a fan of repeating villians, especially since the previous trilogy is still fresh in people's mind,Venom would be repeated villian aswell but he hardly got screen time in SM3 so he should be used again.

But if you're going to do that, you might as well do Electro instead.

I just had an awesome thought for one of two possible crosses in a sequel.

Chameleon and Shocker.
Chameleon and Kraven.

Seriously. They are hurting big time. It's not out of the realm of possibility for them to go under. Hopefully they can merge with another company before it comes to that if needed, and save them from extinction.

Sony as a company will make it through but if they have another bad year, they will sell the periphery companies ala Columbia Pictures first. They might even try bankruptcy for Columbia if they report losses but then another company will buy up those assets or invest money for some part of ownership like what happened with MGM. This should all play put before the end of this year so we will see. Some predicted last year that Columbia will be gone before 2012 is up...who knows!? If that doesn't happen this year then I think Columbia will survive.

I'm sorry, but I'd hate that! Shocker is awesome for how he is with no superpowers and creating his own weapons. As Drummerdude7 said, they could as well go with Electro then.

Seems very Whiplash-esque to me.

Yeah but that's the way his origin is in the comics, and that's what would work best I think! I really wouldn't like if they'd go the TSSM route and make him another Oscorp creation.

I want more than three movies. I wouldn't do Harry Potter, but give us like five films.

I see your point. It could work for both though.

I agree. Just when it comes to "electric powers" I'd rather see Electro :woot:

I'm actually not all that opposed to Chameleon, I think he has potential if teamed with another villain, like Mysterio perhaps. Both are masters of deception.

Oh I know...I was just saying it'd be too similar for my tastes, and reminds me that Whiplash (aside from a few scenes) really wasn't all too threatening...and I want my villains threatening :woot:

This is my favorite type of discussion on forums concerning Spidey, choices from the Rogue Gallery for future movies.

I agree! :)

I just had an awesome thought for one of two possible crosses in a sequel.

Chameleon and Shocker.
Chameleon and Kraven.

I would love any of those two suggestions!

The mob could use both Chameleon and Shocker for example! Having Shocker do the work that requires direct action (robbing banks, battle Spidey, wreaking havoc), while Chameleon could do assassinations (assassinate rival guys and other important persons).

Would be awesome if Chameleon tries to assassinate Norman Osborn, who could be a target for the mob boss, but Norman owns him. Then Norman could use Chameleon himself in another, minor plot in ASM3.

EDIT: And Chameleon could be the guy bringing Kraven to NY, then having those two form a plot of some kind to try to defeat Spidey.

Shocker working for Kingpin
Now that would be A-awesome.Its a shame Kingpin is owned by fox

They tried that already. :(

3 films are usually the standard and 4 films with all the major players are rare. It takes a lot of money to do that and Sony seems to not care. It will be interesting to see how Avengers affects these studios game plan. Sony and Marvel would be fools to not combine forces and ride together into the golden sunset actually made of gold. An Avengers movie with Spider-Man in it would destroy anything in its path.

Am I the only one not wanting Spidey to join the Avengers?

No disrespect but Spidey is too big for the Avengers.Avengers works for small time heroes(Fanbase wise) like Thor and Hulk

I was against having Spidey in an Avengers film (and in the Marvel Studios universe) big time before, but after watching Avengers I'm really curious to see Marvel do that one day. I bet Joss Whedon would make something great out of it!

I was just talking about this over in the Avengers thread. The GA wants Spidey big time. Personally I'd rather wait a few more films before he comes in, but if Marvel had any sort of rights, you know they'd use him first opportunity they get. Heck, my boss and friends were all raving about how awesome Avengers 2 will be when Spidey is in it...I can still see their disappointed faces when I explained the reality of the situation.

I don't want Webb to change him too much from his 616 version. At most, and what I'd want, is for him to be some kind of commander of criminals and at the same time the big threat. I wouldn't want him to become a mob boss however, or making big schemes by himself. He should be the one doing the dirty work IMO. If the mob boss wants to cause a blackout in NY, Shocker could be the one to do it, for example.

Agreed! Shocker is awesome and they bassically raped him in USM. if he is a movie, I would love see something like what they did with the first Spider-Man game in the subway (though it might be too simialr to his fight with sandman but eh) that was awesome!! oh and my favourite shocker quote from the game would love to hear similar in a movie.

"So you must be..."Quilt-Man"..."Padded Pete"..."Mister Triple-Ply?" Oh! I got it! "The Cushion"! " :funny:

The most quipping Tobey ever did. :oldrazz::woot:

Spider-Man would be a huge hit if he was in the Avengers. Personally, I would love to see him in the Avengers, but I also wouldn't be too disappointed, since it's a complicated situation between Marvel and Sony. As long we keep getting more Spider-Man movies, I'll be satisfied.

Haha I've heard the exact same thing from my friends! They're all "Imagine how awesome it would be with Spidey in the team!" and "Will Spider-Man join too?". And when I explained the situation, they all thought that was very unfortunate, disappointing and a loss of potential.

Shocker was badass in that game! The voice actor fit him very well! Also, the vibro blasts looked the best there than in any other Spidey game. I loved when he shot the ground

I think that's the thing, alot of Spidey-fans don't want him in the Avengers, as Spidey has always been primarily a solo player. Fans however make up only a small minority of the movie-viewing public, and the GA, the GA not only wants, but expects Spidey to be in Avengers. We're kidding ourselves if we believe that this really isnt going to happen anytime soon. Yes Sony still has the rights but in the position they're in at the moment, sharing a hold with Marvel or even Disney is probably there best option, especially if things don't improve for them after this year.

Joss Whedon + Spider-Man + Avengers would end my world.
