What do u guys think of Chris Pine as Eddie Brock? Don't know if he would pull off a villain, but say for a 3rd or 4th film..maybe towards the end of the decade like 2018/19. He certainly has the look and acting chops. Height you can always increase with the magic of film. When Garfield matures a little more too, could be a nice stand-off.

Definite sleeper possibility. I remember how pleasantly surprised I was by Iron Man when all I was thinking about was The Dark Knight.

It's hard to imagine that a Spider-Man movie is playing 3rd wheel in the summer season.

Agreed. You hit the nail.
I've discussed about it many times before.
Raimi lost too much time with a pointless love triangle, messing with a relationship that established itself by the end of the second movie, instead of moving forward with it, cooking, poetry reading, singing, a stupid and senseless retcon of Ben's murder, dancing and other things that escape my mind.

A cartoon did the Venom saga, within 70 minutes, splendidly better than the movie did in over 2 hours, and it had 3 villains (Rhino, Shocker and Venom), without mentioning Spidey getting the symbiote before that, slowly changing into something he isn't and even having a subplot with Promethium X involved, Kingpin and Smythe. Add to that Brock's development and Venom stalking Spidey and making his life a hell.

I have all 3 episodes in one piece, 53 minutes some seconds, including one intro and one ending

Can't say. I'm pretty sure it's from the batch of promo images that goes toys and cereal boxes etc (who's responsible for those?). You can see the shoes are colored red.

I wish for EW cover they just used the first picture released of Garfield unmasked with the rucsack. Spider-man just looks strange in that picture, and not a good strange. A really bad strange.

Still really excited for the movie though.

I don't see why a stupid magazine cover would ruin anyone's excitement for a film. I actually can't see why anything but the actual footage of the film itself could ruin anyone's excitement.

it sucks that this film has to go up against the dark knight rises in the same month because by the time TAS is out they will already be buiding up to show the dark knight rises and spiderman may not be seen for its full partential

its actally something the avengers had no problem with, battleships pft thats nothing really

i hope the amazing spiderman can make an impressive impact

Think about that, the biggest superhero for the last 20 years and by far the most loved and well known.
He will not fail in 2 Weeks, that statement is laughable.

I wouldn't worry too much. If the movie is good, the word of mouth would increase the Batman vs Spidey debate for the month and would only increase sales for BOTH.

Also, 2 and a half weeks is a lot of time. Especially in the summer. Movies make most of their money in the first 2 weeks anyway.

Again, Spider-Man sells... and Batman sells. Spidey and Bats are arguably in the top 3 (or so) when it comes to the most popular superheroes. Both movies will sell very well, TDKR's release date won't affect TASM and vice versa.

Both films will make tons of dough because they are popular heroes, no matter what Spider-Man sells. No matter what Batman sells. Release dates wont affect the BO.

Does anyone here expect Sony Pictures to change the release date for TASM, as G.I Joe 2 is not being released on the June 29 date (it has been postponed to March 2013 as the studio, Paramount wants to convert it into 3D.)

The Amazing Spider-Man should be released on the June 29th (the original date that was kept for GI Joe 2) (IMO.)

This will provide the movie full 3 weeks before TDKR comes out.

Yup. They are also planning for reshoots including getting back JGL as Cobra commander and making the movie into 3D.

All this after the posters and merch. was already released this year.

To be fair, this year's Summer is too much crowded.
