I simply love that clip. "I'm swinging here, I'm swinging here!" lol
It's totally something I'd shout if I could swing like that.

Clips are getting me pumped up for the movie things are looking great for this movie!!

No they are mostly white/opaque

The eyes are pretty damn yellow dude... haven't you seen the picture thread?

Practical effects look good. I like how this Spidey has a lot more personality in the suit, Garfield has the body language right. The music during the escape scene sounds bad to me though. It's positive and magical sounding and annoys me. It's like watching ET and Eliot ride into the sky on a bicycle with the power of love. Would've preferred more action orientated music with a sense of danger/creepiness, more like the beginning of the clip. Oh, and the backward swinging... I don't get it. Why exactly did they take a good shot and play it in reverse?

Edit:Am I the only one that gets a real 'ninja turtles' vibe when he says 'I'm swingin' here!'

I think people who are still expecting this to be dark and gritty are you in for disappointment. Marc Webb straight out stated they weren't going for dark last year at Comic-con. They were going for grounded, funny and whimsical yet no one seemed to believe him. The sample of James Horner's score supports this.

He also stated there are dark aspects to it because of the nature of the story and that's fine..that's life. It's not all light and not all dark and that's always been Spidey..good things happen and very bad things happen too, which is one reason he uses that sense of humor anyway to keep from tearing his eyes out

No they are mostly white/opaque
No they are yellow tinted...you are confused due to all the night shots of spidey toning the yellow down...
even the merchandise they are selling shows spidey having yellow tinted eyes

I really like the clip, but the music still feels a bit off to me.

Also, wtf is going on with backwards Spidey?? :S

EDIT: Capt. Stacy is awesome in this haha!

I LOVE the new footage (I'm swinging here" and Leno footage). Everything is looking great. But I also felt the music on the swinging footage felt off, like it was for a different movie.

Regardless, really pumped about everything I've seen!

The music fits perfectly, maybe it's because you guys were expecting something darker, but within the context of the clip, him discovering his powers, experimenting with those, it fits perfectly.

Money is no excuse,SM3 cost almost 50ME more than this movie

Yet almost everybody is sure this will turn out better than that

Spidey 3 had story issues which has nothing to do with stunts. Spidey 3 also had alot more superhuman characters with far more complex effects that had to be rendered than this film.

I agree. It's supposed to be positive, to be the birth of the web swinging. :cwink:

Yeah, I mean, if your lead character is swinging through city and it's supposed to be joyous and he's screaming at the top of his lungs proclaiming his joy, why on earth would you bit dark brooding music behind that?

Loved the humor, and the practical swinging looks awesome. It makes sense that he doesn't quite have the swinging down, since he's probably just starting out.

Also, I'm really not getting the complaint about the music. It sounds perfectly fine to me. I mean, we get an actual, (mostly) classically orchestrated score for a movie, and people complain about it?!? The hell???

I think people are just so used to hearing the dark, atmospheric, brooding, electronic/synth in those Hans Zimmer-esque kind of scores, that when they hear something like this, it sounds weird to them.

Frankly, as much as I love the score's for his most recent films, I'm getting tired of hearing that sound in the majority of today's scores. Hearing a soundtrack like this is just a breath of fresh air.

Again, I'm loving the soundtrack. Can't wait to hear the rest of it when it's released!

Because it's supposed to be copying Batman. Amazing isn't it? Before it wasn't supposed to be dark. Now that it's actually joyous, it's weird.

I liked the swinging in the chase clip. The physics of Spidey's movement felt much more believable.

Score accompanying it was crap, unfortunately. Sounded like a cheap early 90s family film. And I love uplifiting orchestral music.

But that's the thing, no one who works on this movie ever came out and said they were copying Batman..hell, Andrew came out and said straight up, batman is batman and spider-man is spider-man, why copy it? I think the cats who complain about stuff like that don't understand that "realistic" does not mean dark. It means just that, realistic. Life is filled with both light and dark, we have great days and crappy days and not everyday makes us want to smile. Realism refers to lighting, atmosphere, dialogue, look, feel, but that doesn't mean dark. I thought we all learned this in high school english lol..or middle school english..or elementary school english geez

I don't mind the soundtrack. I think it sounds great. We really don't need to compare this to Hans Zimmer's Batman score. Their scores are both great in their own right, and both match what their respective movies need in terms of tone and whatnot.

Exactly..geez, why does everything have to be a competition with most cats? That's one thing about fanboy culture I will never understand: Everything turns into a competition..video games, video game systems, movies, tv shows...the only things I'm competitive about are things that are actually competitive..sports and hip hop lol. I want the Giants to be the best team in the NFL again and repeat as champs and I want my Yankees to win the World Series this year..But if amazing is awesome and the dark knight rises is awesome, thats a win-win for me and for billions of fans worldwide. A rising tide lifts ALL boats

So...should I watch this clip? I don't really want to, as I'd rather wait now until the movie itself releases and watch it in all it's glory. If it's not anything spoilery though I will be enticed. lol

Now that I think about it. The score for that scene reminds me of The Might Ducks movies, those whacky moments when the kids are just learning to skate and stuff.

I'd say watch it, just don't have any expectations.

Actually reminds me of John Williams' score from Hook
