I meant to say I don't think they will do both Green Goblin and Venom.
Green Goblin and Venom repeated?
I don't see that happening.
This would make a good elseworlds movie, nice suggestions.Turning Spider-Man into an actual criminal is a great idea.
Lets have him smoke some pot on top of a building in between slinging breaks too. Have Mary Jane be a prostitute he meets while buying some weed from his drug dealer in the sequel as well.
Yeah that's so Spider-Man like, all of it.
Well see I was born in the 90s and in the 90s Venom was spiderman ultimate villain. He was literally everywhere and he still is today. Half of the hype for spidey 3 was venom soooo yea I can see them using him again.Doc Ock stands a better chance than Venom. He's more iconic and a classic hallmark Spidey villain. The only other villain on equal footing to Green Goblin.
I think a lot of people want to see the Green Goblin. And the death of Gwen Stacy. I also think that we're going to get exactly that considering that Marc has mentioned the Gwen Stacy saga in a few interviews.
I really think Venom won't be used again. And I hope I'm right because with the exception of Green Goblin, there should only be villains that Raimi didn't use if you ask me. Otherwise, it would feel like not using Spidey's rogue to its full potential. For the sequels, we still have awesome villains like Mysterio, Kraven, Electro, Scorpion, Chameleon, Shocker, Vulture etc. etc. to use from. As somebody here said, Green Goblin is to Spidey what Joker is to Batman. Now, imagine a Batman trilogy (that is totally set apart from other Batman franchises) without Joker.
Not to mention that Webb himself has mentioned the death of Gwen Stacy story in interviews, also mentioning that Gwen is interesting much because of her fate and so on (now let's hope he's not talking about the Ultimate version).
We also have Oscorp, and having Oscorp without Norman would just be wrong, and having Norman without Green Goblin in turn feels wrong as well.
So I think we'll definitely have Green Goblin in one of the sequels. I just hope it's not the Ultimate version because that would suck hard (especially after having Lizard).
I think venom will definately be used and may even be the very next villian we see.
1. the character lends itself to the ultimate universe
2. there are strong ties with the scientist parents of peter (eddie's dad is a scientist who creates the ooze with peter's dad).
3. there is a stong oppertunity to do the character properly
in fact venom for the sequel actually makes a lot of sense.
All these points make sense.
But, that would mean another movie with the whole symbiote stuff again, which we had in SM3. Many people even think having the origin again makes it too much like Raimi's film.
I think they won't have more than one villain that Raimi had and that one villain would probably be Green Goblin, since he's Spidey's arch enemy after all. Especially now that we have Gwen Stacy, and her death was never covered in the past trilogy.
I know that Webb's version of the symbiote saga would probably be alot different than Raimi's, and hopefully less cheesy. It would maybe be the film with Venom as it should be done. But still, having a trilogy with 1) the origin, 2) Green Goblin and 3) Venom would maybe make the trilogy itself seem too much like a remake instead of a reboot.
Guys. I know what they're gonna show.
They will reveal the secret recipe for Aunt May's wheatcakes. I'm already one step ahead, though.

what matters first and foremost is th quality of the movie. for instance I 100% didn't want to see joker again and look how that turned out.
if you are a film maker the very first question you should ask yourself is 'do I have a story worth telling' if the answer is yes then everything else is largely irrelavent. so if webb has an interesting story of venom (a character we've already seen) I would rather see that than a movie that has electro (for example) who is used because the studio thinks he looks cool and will sell loads of toys.
for the record I personally don't want to see venom but if they made venom I'd give it a chance.
good rule of thumb = the audience have no idea what they want
