Phase 2

Ask a superherohype member who lives in New York to film themselves in the EXACT situation in front of an apartment complex

Time is a week.

We need validation on this!

"Will a doorman deny access to someone?"
Or ask me when it comes to college security
Part of Spider-Man's appeal is being able to relate to, and I strongly relate to him in this scene, so I love it

So now Sony...how about an awesome clip with Gwen and Petet interacting or Peter standing up to Flash or Peter talking to Connors!?

Why do you want another clip so quickly? Give 'em a week or two.

But yes, I agree. I hope whatever they release is more exciting than the doorman clip. It was dull and stupid.

I have no idea when the next one is coming...but it better not be Peter mending his skateboard for 50 seconds or Peter trying to switch phone companies. I need stuff to amp me up.

You're not going to get anything Spidey or Lizard orientated. Not for a while.

Maybe clips of Peter mending his web shooters or Doc Connors recording the progress of his transformation or something like that? Sure.

Some of you make me laugh. Making demands of wanting to see more footage and then when the film comes out you complain that you saw or knew too much prior to seeing the movie. You want to get amped? Put the international trailer on repeat and sit there in silence until Sony decide whether or not to release anymore footage.

I just think the doorman scene is the equivalent to the scene in Watchmen: Director's Cut when Rorschach leaves the Comedian's apartment building and confronts two cops. It is unnecessary and ruins pacing. There are other ways to transition to a new scene.

Yeah, god forbid people judge the marketing material released.

To me, the scene released is neither awful or especially good. I find some of the scene contrived, a doorman automatically jumps to the conclusion that a teenager on foot with a backpack and no uniform is a messenger (are there no teenagers with friends in his building?), the doorman doesn't bother to call up to see if this teenager is expected given that he's mentioned the name of one of the tenants, and the teenager is so flustered by a perfectly normal situation that he can't say who he is and who he expects to see, but none of that is a real dealbreaker to the movie as a whole. But, all it does is play awkward to me. It's not funny since it doesn't have anything approaching a punchline and it doesn't push the plot forward in anyway that I can tell.

It seems like something that could be cut without anyone in the general audience noticing. That's a good argument that the scene should be cut.

No.

5 minutes of footage including trailers from a 2 hour movie is NOTHING.

Interview with Rhys about the Lizard

Like many Spider-Man villains, The Lizard isn't necessarily evil, just misunderstood...

That's certainly the case here. Curt is a force for good throughout his life. He's a geneticist who wants to help people, like him, who are limbless. In his eagerness to advance that science, he makes a mistake and that's an occurrence we've seen throughout time, sometimes to our benefit, sometimes to our detriment.

Did you base him on any scientist in particular?

No, not in particular. I had vague memories of the Open University but I wouldn't say I looked like any of those guys. He is a broken man who wants to fix himself. The Lizard almost becomes a drug for him, an alter-ego like Jekyll and Hyde, if you like. He's strong and brave and agile in a way that he can't be in his own life.

Will we see Connors flit back and forth, or is this a gradual transformation?

I don't know if I can say. You'll see transformations of all kinds.

And you actually play The Lizard via mo-cap, don't you?

Yeah, the advancements in that are quite [frick]in' breathtaking. Each of your facial movements are repeatable, but then you add the face of a lizard. I was, disturbingly, able to recognise some of my facial tics. In terms of the physicality, I had a particular way I wanted The Lizard to move. I didn't have lots of CGI downtime.

How did you manage to suggest having a tail?

You just have to imagine yourself with a longer spine. Some days I'd be standing on set like one of those 'Golf Sale' people with the pole stuck down the back of my tracksuit, and on top would be the Lizard head. It was quite comical in comparison to the end result.

Doorman! You're a DOORMAN! DOORMAN!...DOORMAN!

Was going to link the clip from Knocked Up but it's against policy because of the curses...

Good interview.

It's actually a little over 4% :o

^Thank you for this picture...

So we'll see transformations of all kinds? Wonder what he's suggesting.

I find the clip kind of funny, whenever I watch it I can't help but think he wouldn't have been asked about the bag if he hadn't pushed the glove in, zipped it up and then hidden it. Just Peter's luck, I guess. Really looking forward to this.

Before he became Spider-Man, Peter Parker fought crime on the streets of New York in a cobbled-together prototype of his Spidey-suit. The ski mask and sunglasses didn't last long before they were replaced with his famous webbed mask...

Agreed, The same ones will then WHINE that Sony has showed too much. I hope Sony saves the real sizzle footage for the release of the film.

Called it. He wants to turn the whole city into lizards because he think it's a good thing. He feels powerful and wants to share it.

Like a good boy...
