The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game - Part 3

I don't have a issue with the crawling but rather the way he runs he looks kind of goofy when he runs in that rhino fight
Considering what we've seen with the wallcrawling and the running animations, it looks like Beenox made some really odd choices. I can only imagine that their goal was for this game to have a different look and feel compared to other Spidey games, but his movements just don't look natural.

Iv always wanted Spidey to wall crawl like he was actually crawling on the side of a building. Like we saw in the early scenes of the orig Spider-Man movie. He's grabbing window ledges and other small indentions on the building. In the games, its always looked as tho he's crawling on a completely flat surface. Spider-Man 3, somewhat replicated this. Its why i say i actually really liked the crawling animation from that title.

IGN has nominated Amazing Spider-man for best of show

I just saw the demo video on IGN and I like what i'm seeing. Dee stated this game will be the next evolution for Spider-man games and I genuinely believe him. To see Spider-man swinging with the ambient sound effects felt truly cinematic. Combat looked great, the Rhino fight was slightly repetitive but I enjoyed the finishing move. When the webrush goes into first person, rather than stopping time completely it should have slowed everything down to give the player a sense of urgency while making a decision on which location to pick, more of an observation than a complaint though.

I'm definitely buying this game and have very high hopes for it. Hopefully, if it turns out the way I expect it will, this is the start of some high-class, terrific, amazing spider-man games.

Yea i haven't been more impressed with a Spidey title in quit some time. Obviously there are a few things iv seen I'm not super stoked on but for the most part i think the game is gonna be a damn solid effort. Hopefully going forward Beenox can do even better with the free roam formula.

Sometimes I feel like getting a device of them just for that game, but the battery will die soon and I will get bored soon, so it's not worth it

Games aren't the reason to own an iPhone or iPad, it's everything else. They're the best smart phone/tablet devices u could possibly own.

At least I'll use the rest of the functions

Did anyone notice this?

In the ign demo, the last link of a demo that was posted, when he's fighting rhino,he's switching to a different form of swinging, the swinging that was in the first 2002 game.

It's around the 4:51 mark. Check it out http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/06/06/ign-live-the-amazing-spider-man-demo-e3-2012
Good observation, and there still is no closing cutscene to that Rhino fight, Spider-Man swings away and screen just fades away, Spider-Man is still swinging
I hope that means you can fight Rhino the same as you can fight Shocker and later Boomerang in Ultimate Spider-Man

if the game is truly good, I would like them to make a free roam spiderman 2099 game next.

IMO, if this game is truly good, they should start making their own "Arkham" series.

And with that, I don't mean that they should put walls around Manhattan, but that they should make their own Spider-Man game series (with 616 based characters) with their own unique and deep story hopefully involving Green Goblin in some way. Take another 2 years to make it, with the same kind of graphics, city, gameplay etc. as ASM.

This game looks good alright, it will hopefully much better than all the previous titles, and very easy to say this game already is much better than Web of Shadows

I'm more with Oscorp, they should build a better Spider-Man 616 game before pulling Spider-Man 2099, though I really look forward to that kind of games

Web Of Shadows was awful. When I saw the intro video, I thought it was supposed to be humorous... but it wasn't....

I agree, the wall crawling has always kinda looked a little bit odd to me, his movements altogether seemed to be borrowed from the other games, don't really see Beenox going out of their way to have someone do extensive motion capture for Spidey. The wall crawling IMO always seems to have Spidey ignore obstacles such as windows and pipes, if they would have taken cue from the past films in terms of movement on walls, it would have been nice to have something like this.

I'm not buying ASM for reasons that you touched on...Arkham games set a really high bar on comic character games. I expect producers to meet the challenge and offer a deeper experience. I thought more producers of comic based games would take note of what was done so well with those games but I haven't seen it. I'm talking a deep character driven game that very thoroughly explores the rogues and allies and the motivations of the cast. This game is limited by time they can produce and story they can draw from....they cannot really significantly touch on any characters or lore that may be explored in future movies and really are limited to Spidey's C-list rogues. A non movie-based Spider-Man game would be the easiest to do...same sort of free roam environment with a deep and rich lore to pull from. There are numerous high production value alternative games out there to turn to for entertainment without encouraging pre-Arkham standards.

That clip is so sweet! What kills me is that it's actually much better than any wallcrawling we saw in any of the three movies.

Why the heck does wallcrawling have that discussion on it? Guy places the palms of his hands -sometimes just fingers- against surfaces and sticks, simple

Yea that video is the type of movements id like to see out of Spidey.

Hah i wouldn't say that. The scene in the first film where he's chasing Bens killer. There some nice looking wall crawling going there.

It's a small nitpick that in no way would kill the overall gameplay. We've all been talking about what we would like to see in a Spider-Man game, this being one of the things we would like to see improved since it obviously didn't happen with this game but oh well. The video I posted was just an example of how a few of us would like to see him move when adhering to a surface

Can you elaborate on those things? I'm just curious.
