As funny as it sounds I would play SM3 over WoS, I cannot stand Spidey's voice in WoS, I would rather listen to Tobey's "I would rather be somewhere else" voice

I would agree with you on that but all I ever used WoS for, after completing the game of course, was to web swing. There's no voice work if you just swing around and imo the swing mechanics are much better in WoS. Then again, I can't even do that anymore cause I traded in my copy of WoS towards the preorder for ASM, lol.

I currently don't own any SM games, Im done with Shattered Dimensions, SM3 and WoS. Hopefully TASM will be my definitive Spidey game

Yea id agree, if i were to play a Spidey game id play SM3 however the only Spidey game i currently own is Shattered Dimensions and thats cuz the a**holes at Amazon wouldn't take it for trade in, haha.

Over the last few days tho i just can not find a game that holds my attention. Ill put in a game, then immediately feel like not playing it. Iv realized what my problem is, i want to play The Amazing Spider-Man. No other game right now is scratching that itch. Until that game comes out, ill just be in a lull.

Well Max Payne 3 has been filling in that void until TASM comes, and even then, I feel like its gonna find itself back on my shelf, I've already beaten it 3 times. I purchased Starhawk for PS3, only touched it 3 times, 10 minutes at a time

Oh yea theres plenty of great games right now. I mean iv got Max Payne and Ghost Recon and i just bought Transformers: War for Cybertron, but none of those are the amazing spider-man, which is what i want to play, right now. Ah well, not long to wait now.

I know, even right now I wish Max would don a suit and just start swingin all around Sao Paulo lol

I've been playing Spider-Man 2 to help me with my thoughts of this game. It's...sorta helping. I keep wishing the game wasn't so ugly and that the camera was closer. I lose Spider-Man when I'm swinging super fast because of the camera sometimes. (and my skill...)

I agree. There's really only one game that I want to play right now too...ASM. I've tried playing some other games but nothing seems to be filling the void I'm feeling. Even AC has lost its luster for the moment.

I traded mine in a while back..I'm not sure for what. I somewhat regret it, but the main reason I liked it was for swinging around NYC under lock-down. The ominous atmosphere with smoke all over the city sky with empty streets save for the possessed and the odd remaining survivors.

To me, WOS had a lot of promise and was a victim of the development time constraints. I appreciated the new control scheme they brought to the table for this that title.... such as the aerial web attacks. I'm pretty sure Beenox took inspiration from that and it has now bloomed into web rush which also works in context for attacks.

I regret that for whatever ill-thought-out reason I chose to trade in WOS over Spiderman 3. I was doing a second play through of the game trying to work up to the city on lockdown, but the voice work and sound was just too damn ridiculous to suffer through again. I actually enjoy parts of the game. Meanwhile, I can't say the same for Spiderman 3 at all. The only reason I have kept it was as the sole current generation console Spidey free-roamer available other than WOS. I'll be happy to trade it in for Amazing Spiderman. It won't be missed.

Been playing SM2: Enter Electro again, cause of the headline in Along Came a Spider episode from Avengers
Didn't want to play a Spider-Man game before the release of and playing TASM

Exactly. I want to play Spidey so bad that I can't even bring myself to pop in another game of any kind.

I've been playing through God of War in chronological order to pass the time.

I've done that before ^^

Oh man, if I count the games on digital and physical form, then I think I have all of them. Counting from Spider-Man TAS on the SNES emulator.

WoS had a bunch of potential but you could say that for just about any game that failed to reach the mark. I saw a ton of potential in EoT with the element of being able to make choices and have different outcomes with how the future is changed. Anyways, yeah, WoS was plagued by all sorts of issues including the voice acting. I've said it before but the web swinging experience in WoS was by far its best feature and I used that game to go for a swing every now and again because of the level based games we were getting from Beenox. I'm glad to say I don't need WoS anymore since ASM is coming out and I was glad to trade it in.

I've done that before ^^

Awww man, then I have to retract my earlier statement, as far as emulator wise I own

Spider-Man: The Video game (the 4 player game that lets you play as Spidey, Black Cat, Namor, or Hawkeye)

Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage

Spider-Man and Venom: Separation Anxiety

Spider-Man: Lethal Foes (very rare game, only came out in Japan)

Spider-Man (game based on 90's series)

Out of all of the 2D Spidey games, Maximum Carnage was my favorite, I wouldn't mind that game being re-released on the marketplace with updated graphics but that would never happen

I am not sure ASM will be the 'definitive' Spidey game but so far it looks like it will get us real close. Yes, I want this game to be great. The big picture that I am looking at though...as long as the foundation for the game is very strong, meaning that the gameplay mechanics are done very well and have success in making us feel like Spidey, Beenox will be able to use that 'already made' structure to build upon and create even better, more polished Spidey games. IMO, I think ASM will be an awesome game and I am truly excited for it but the even more exciting part is that it opens the doors for Beenox to do even more.

What I know I don't have on emulators aside from the Edge of Time are most of the NDS ones (I have Web of Shadows, best version of that game, band best Spidey game on that system. And USM)

I couldn't find this one

The one based on the cartoon is bad, the Genesis version is worst than the SNES version
At least it's better than the one with the X-Men

You mean a remake like Streets of Rage remake or make it a full current gen game with cutscenes?

Spider-Man: Lethal Foes (very rare game, only came out in Japan)
Oh yeah, this one is definitely my favorite on the SNES

It was my favorite too. I'd be great if it was re-released, as long as they keep the same soundtrack. It was damn fun.

Me neither. I have the games of the main consoles: SNES, PS1, PS2, PS3.
But I forgot I don't have Edge of Time. Never played it.

Remember liking it when I played it, guess I'm a sucker for games taking places in factories
I'm sure to hunt it one day

I agree with ya on that, if this game does nothing else, I want it to set a positive tone for future Spider-Man games. Sure it wont be Game of the Year, but as long as it delivers a solid experience all the way through, then I'm good. Beenox seems really passionate about making the player feel like Spider-Man and I can honestly say you can see where the work has been put into the product.

Yeah, the soundtrack to Maximum Carnage was great, I remember back in the day when I had the original copy, that bad boy stayed in my snes for days on in. I wanted to like Separation Anxiety, but even back then when I didn't know any better, that game seemed rushed and just didn't deliver as much as Maximum Carnage. Lethal Foes IMO was the oddball Spider-Man game because it was made in Japan and alot of the enemies were kinda weird, flying dragon mechs, and what not. Part of me wants to believe that that game was supposed to be a mash-up of elements from the U.S. version of Spider-Man and the Toei Spider-Man series that was created in Japan, thank god they didn't incorporate the Japanese Spider-Man's flying mech, I would have :exp:

I swear it's impulse, every time I see the video, I feel forced to click and watch. One thing I also wanted to point out, I like the sense of gravity that overtakes Spidey when he lets go of a web line. Seems like he floats for a sec and then starts descending. He pulled off some pretty badass moves on that basketball court against those thugs. COME OUT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think ASM will be the definitive Spidey game, up to this point. Sure, maybe other titles might do certain things better, but i think once this game releases, everyone will agree this is the best Spidey title we've gotten. So in that sense, this is(yea I'm saying is) Spider-Man's Arkham Asylum. This will be the Spidey game we want Beenox to continue to draw from. Obviously it won't be on the quality of AA or AC, but i think Spidey fans will be able to proudly say they enjoy ASM(assuming the game is good that is, which from what we hear, thats very likely.)
