well the US has a 50 percent divorce rate...and in most cases divorces do not happen overnight...there is a lead up and a lot of unhappiness that goes into it...so I might be shooting high, but I'm not far off

I dunno if it's quite -that- high. I'd say marriages that end in divorce generally end between 2-5 years of marriage, and so end pretty quickly. I wouldn't say your number being so high would be all that accurate. I'd say it would put it in the ballpark of more 55-65%

Second, I have written Marvel. Why would you assume I haven't? And go all the way out to New York to protest? I have a family to provide for. I have a life. But you better believe I write them.

Third, I also take the time to tell anyone I meet on the internet, who at least claims to work for Marvel, how I feel as well. Even more so for this guy claiming to be Slott seeing as he is currently part of the team killing Spider-Man.

I speak for everyone that cares for continuity and prefers Spidey depicted as a character who has a good moral backbone. This guy we have now, doesn't. He drinks, is kind of a man****e, flirts with his buddies girl, and turned his back on his marriage.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say that it was a good conversation. Mostly, it was everybody yelling at Jay and I (for my slumlord activities) for being some kind of capitalistic tools. I don't remember what thread it was though.

Well I'm willing to beat your two friends didn't push the numbers all the way to a 35% increase.

And according to this it's actually declined a little the past few years but is mostly stable.

That's because it's part of their characters, especially Stark. Peter has never been portraid as being something of a man****e. It would be like Peter cussing up a storm, or the Punisher handing out flowers to old ladies, or Captain America being a commy.

But don't get me wrong sometimes characters grow and change. They evolve like normal people do. They move forward in their growth. Which Peter isn't moving forward as a character. In fact he has been taken back and made something he isn't. He was never a drinking man****e. Which is something "most" people grow out of. So he went from a responsible married man to a drinking man****e. It's like the writers of a crappy sitcom have taken over.

It comes off as cheap and out of character and something like this.

But it should be noted that the characters in that show were at least still acting in character.

what do you expect, Dacman? for a writer (under contract) to Marvel to stand on his desk, cross his arms, and say "no, Im not writing a single Spider-Man anymore"...because you know what will happen...Marvel will just find someone else to do it
