You could use stuff from the actual soundtrack couldn't you Sike?

Nope. He's had some bizarre meltdowns. With Yurka and now Teekay.

I just need to see this movie now, to see where I'll stand. I hoping while it seems to have certain issues, it will get across the line for entertainment value and chemistry of the leads.
I'm also a fan of Orci and Kurtzman's writing so hopefully I won't have as many problems with the script as others do.

The score won't be a problem, plus I have the whole soundtrack so I am sure I could use something. That is the art of editing, hiding the mistakes !
Editing is all about finding shortcuts and making the most out of whatever you have. This is partially why after you have experience with it you start noticing all the editing "mistakes" in movies.

As the movie is out now do you think the user review poll will go up?

They can just use loops of certain tracks or tracks several times on the deleted scenes.

But then again, if those scenes are deleted, there's always a reason, rarely have I watched deleted scenes (and I never do, it usually sucks) and thought they really belonged in the movie, you might watch some of them (like Prometheus for example) and think "hey that's cool, they should have kept it in the movie" when as a separate scene, yeah it works, but then, you try to insert it in the rest of the movie and you find out there's just no room for it anywhere, and it's jarring.

The "beating down scene", I think we can pretty much guess on this one that it was too violent (for the kids) and too dark for a Spidey movie.

That could have gotten them an R rating perhaps?

I think the Dr Connors conversation could work in between where Peter is leaving the high school and to when he is sat in his room ready to go outside and start looking for the killer. I do think it could work especially if I use some of the score that is already happening in that scene.

Okay but you're missing the issue.

If you overlay another track of music on top of the scene. You will no longer have any of the dialogue, sound effects, etc. that happen during the scene. The alternative being that you leave the original audio track on low volume to maintain those things, but then the sound mixing becomes way off.

I'm just saying that no matter what you do trying to edit these scenes into the final cut, it's going to be kind of trying to watch.

I completely understand what you are saying but I am pretty certain I could still mix it correctly. As I said I have got the whole weekend, so I could definitely give it a go.

That where Peter beats Harry almost killing him?If so i'm with you.

TeeKay said that in his version after Peter sees Gobby killing Gwen[He broke her neck in that version] he beats crap out of Harry and then when Harry is almost dead Peter hears words of uncle Ben and he just webs him or something and then he goes to gwen he cries a little and runs away when he hears the cops.

I think the beat down scene should be in the movie and I think it would be powerful scene...I don't know why anyone wuld cut it out of the movie...especially if fight with gobby is so short.

You won't be able to mix it correctly because you're not going to be able to access the separate tracks.

You would need the master track of the entire movie's audio track in order to pull this off in a convincing fashion. And even if that file was available somewhere, it would be hundreds of GBs.

Lol, I am not here to debate with you about editing. I have been doing it for years. Like Picard said, editing is using what you have. I have experience editing and I wouldn't need to necessarily tamper with any of the dialogue. It is all about placement of the clip.

Moving on swiftly, I will be seeing this film tonight and I will post my reactions to it when I get home. I am seeing it at nine because my girlfriend is working until eight. Once I get back I will let you guys know what I thought.

It's easy to understand why it's not in: too violent probably for a Spidey movie. There are tons of kids seeing those movies.

That blast guy said that the film was edited to death and now people are saying that the rhino scene was replaced by an x-men trailer. Anyone else saw the movie differently because many people on twitter stated it was good and mentioned the film being different from the edits and x-men trailers. Maybe it was meant for a few countries overseas

Looks like Repulsor Blast wasn't liking the movie that much. I didn't read the spoiler stuff but he definitely was not impressed and called it messy. He kinda came off a little angry in those posts.

 This has nothing to do with editing. It has everything to do with sound engineering.

Spiderman has had violence for years even in the media. Heck, people saw the neck breaking scene so I doubt people saw it being edited to death

The 'Rhino' scene wasn't replaced with an X-men trailer. There simply used to be a short sequence for the end credits with
Norman's frozen head in a container
but that's gone.

In SOME cinemas, a short trailer for Days of Future Past was put in there. In my local cinema however, as well as many others, no scene/trailer features in the after-credits.

just back from this: i can see why some people thought this would feel packed as there's a lot going on in parts but overall this is for the first time a real Spider-Man movie. quips fun action heart emotion.

What would you rate it? What rating did you give to ASM?
