The Vulture would be cool - he will surely show up in the Sinister Six. You know the Vulture was almost in Spider-Man 3 (Ben Kingsley was lined up for it) and Spider-Man 4 (John Malkovich)?

As for Mysterio, how would he work in the modern day? I think it would be incredibly tough to convince audiences that everything he does is special effects. You'd have to constantly explain everything. "Those aliens you were fighting were robots, Spider-Man!" I just can't see it working.

It seems that [BLACKOUT]Harry and Norman[/BLACKOUT] will be the main villains in the third movie. I imagine it will be the power struggle between the two, with them both fighting Spidey at the climax before Harry changes his mind and sacrifices himself to save Peter.

That would be interesting (Harry vs Norman). I don't know though, I liked Harry's Goblin. I'd be interested in seeing how it progresses in future films. I wouldn't mind your idea though, as long as we don't get an overwhelming amount of Goblin, because I think this early on in a franchise it's risky going from Goblin to Goblin, especially since he wasn't in this one that long.

Saw the movie today. It was a let down. It had nothing to do with the first movie(Which I like).
At this point it seems to me that they plan their movies according to trends. When they did the first one the popular choice was the dark knight and now they tried the avengers approach(which is the similar tone to the Raimi Spider-man).
The plot didn't flow for me and a lot of things just happened.
Electro was had no real motivation. The Peter - Harry friendship never develops for the viewer and the foreshadowing for the climax of the movie is all over the place.
And don't get me started on Dr.Kafka...

But, is question of the day in the film?

Nope. That sentence aint in the movie either. Everything still works very good, don't misunderstand. But those lines just simply aren't included in the final product (which I felt was a bit weird, still)

At least you liked it more than MOS, lol. That's something. Rating?

Haha! ;-)
Look. Amazing-2 is a film, that despite it's flashy (but cool) effects and action, is DEFINITELY character-driven! I loved that. The story evolves well and there are so many scenes of pure emotion, running so damn high. Last night I dropped a tear from my eye at one point. Not even close to kidding! And the Soundtrack. My GOD does it deliver :-)

I may be a bit harsh on poor Max, I don't know. He DOES work though. I just would've liked for them to cut the corniness of his Max character down a bit. But he's good enough though :-)

After my 2'nd viewing I'm gonna give this one a truly strong 8 out of 10! The expansion of the story and the relationships between the characters are just amazing! And YES, I do think it is the absolute best of the Spidey films. No match there (for me, that is).

While a film like The Winter Soldier is bit more, shall we say "stream-lined" and somewhat more "edgy" (and I thought it ROCKED), The Amazing Spiderman 2 still takes the cake. It does this because of the strong emotions and the bond between the characters from left to right. It just works.

Hey, Naite.

I've been thinking about seeing the film a 2nd time.

How did you like the film the second time you saw it, compared to the first time?

Nice. I remember that you were really worried about the film from the reviews that you had read. Would you agree with the critics to some extent?

It's not my idea so much as what I think will happen. Harry's relationship with his father isn't fully dealt with. Norman doesn't even get a death scene, which is always a huge give away in movies. And most of all, we see that Norman is turning Goblin himself with the silly claws. I think they will both be in the third movie.

A very well-written review that came off as someone who is being objective although clearly a fan of Spider-man. I really enjoyed reading this. Thank you.

Thanks! I really enjoyed the film, and I can't wait to see it again next week in regular 3D! I'll write a spoiler-heavy review then :yay:

Are we all agreed that, speaking specifically of the portrayal of the title character himself, this is the best movie depiction of Spider-Man?

It makes Tobey Maguire's Spidey look like a humourless mute.

The biggest 'WTF?!' is Dr Kafka.

At that moment, it really is Schumacher territory.

But at least they acknowledged that the comic version is female by giving him lipstick....

Schumacher? Where are the plastic nipples and the neon costumes?

At worst we had a Green Goblin who looked like a grown up version of the Leprachaun, and an Electro who was wearing Abe Sapien's wetsuit.

I loved Doctor Kafka. I was actually disappointed his name wasn't Octavius to be honest. There was something about his look that I felt was perfect for Otto (maybe not his personality, but this was when we first met him).

He was a great character and I loved his creepy sort of love for Electro's abilities.

Very funny.

Tobey was good but I think we can all agree that Andrew's quipping is better than Tobey's constant grunts

that little hand forming in the web trying to catch Gwen almost made me shed a tear. Very emotional scene.

I liked the movie but at the same time i have to say it was all over the place. imagining there was also the Mary Jane Storyline for a while it would have been a real mess.

The electro soundeffects were great .

I laughed out loud at that bit, it was absurd.

I thought it was great and really added to the moment. It fitted the situation and the moment so well and it was probably my favourite part of the film outside of the web slinging.

My favourite bit was when Spidey was inexplicably holding a huge fish.

I have a question for you guys

In your opinion, who is more responsible for Gwen's death? Harry or Peter? Or is the responsibility split 50/50. And do you think we will see the test screening cut of her death on Blu Ray?

wasn´t there a pic of the guy with the hat walking past all the Oscorp Inventions like the Doc Ock Arms, the Vulture Wings and at the end there was a box with a head in it ? that scene wasnt in the movie at all. In another trailer next to the vulture wings there was a black gooey Ball...that wasnt in the movie either . Now it was rhinos suit.

Black goey ball....? Don't remember that in the trailers, alhtough the Venom symbiote is named in the film in one of Oscorp's files.

[BLACKOUT]I feel as if it was maybe 80% Harry's fault, 20% Pete's. What do you mean "test screening cut" of her death, though? She gets sher neck snapped in both versions[/BLACKOUT]
