I saw it for a third time today. I've well and truly had time to absorb everything about it now, and given it a fair shot. As a Spider-Man fan I'm glad I did. My overall opinion has not changed, but the flaws did stand out a bit more than on the first viewing.

I still think Electro is the worst villain ever done in a Spidey movie. I can't believe how badly he was done, and with such a terrific actor like Jamie Foxx in the role. Max Dillon is a goofball cheesy caricature, and Electro is nothing more but an attention seeking loser with a paper thin motive and atrocious dialogue.

Dane DeHaan is still solid and very good as Harry, I just wish we saw more facets to Harry's character besides the dark and intense one. His brief friendly chat with Peter, we needed to see that nice human Harry fleshed out more because that warm side to Harry, that friendship with Peter is vital to the character, and it was all too brief and under developed. So it lacked any real punch when Harry turned Goblin. It didn't feel like best friends turned enemies because the movie never invested in their friendship enough. I still loathe the Goblin design, and think Goblin himself was just shoe horned in at the end for a quick scuffle so [blackout]Gwen could die[/blackout].

The less said about Paul Giamatti in this the better.

Andrew and Emma are the real stars of the movie. They are truly wonderful. Webb rectified mistakes with Peter from the first movie. Peter did not act like an unlikable *****e who makes light fun of breaking promises to a dead man. This was a more likable, respectable, funny and warm Peter who is conflicted over choices he'd made breaking that promise. The awful Spidey costume from TASM was replaced with a beautiful Spidey suit. It look incredible in every single shot. Spidey himself was a witty, heroic, touching hero who makes you laugh one minute, and touches your heart the next being sweet to a nerdy kid who was being tormented by bullies.

The action still looked great to me, I just didn't like how we only had two fight scenes in a movie with three villains. And I still think Harry's one was way too short where he barely got to show off his battle prowess. Hans Zimmer's score is forgettable in some places and truly awful in others (Times Square scene).

I still leave it as a 6/10. Andrew and Emma are the ones that weight most of that score for me, and save the movie.

Electro is worse than the Lizard? Oh man, lol.

Anyone remember that Dr that was completely cut out of TASM after the bridge scene? What happened to him? I'm guessing he isn't mentioned once in this film.

DB tumblr confirms that's real so tasm director's or extended cut needs to happen

Thought the DB article said Ratha died when he hit his head in the windshield?
In correct they found his corpse in the sewers

The New York City Coroner’s Office yesterday positively identified a badly decomposed body found in the sewers beneath lower Manhattan as that of Dr. Rajit Ratha, 46, formerly of Oscorp Industries. A resident of New York City, Ratha was born on March 13, 1967 in Jaipur, India. Ratha was the Director of Business Development in the Biogenetic Division of Oscorp in Manhattan.

He seemed like a bit of a joke character with not much to him. Quite strange for a lead villain. Certainly didn't need an actor like Jamie Foxx for that.

Are we allowed to post deleted scenes from old movies or is that considered piracy? Cause it is actually on youtube.

We're talking about how Irfan Kahns character was supposed to die right?

All those scenes are on the Blu-Ray.

It's okay, man. :oldrazz:

Right, I remember watching the deleted scenes, but I was wondering if they ever did anything with him since they cut that out. Apparently he died in the viral marketing campaign for this movie.

Oh, I watched it. Wow.

But thanks. :)

Goooooood?

or

Baaaaaaaad?

I just noticed that down here the film is called The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro. What the hell? Was there a subtitled added I was unaware of?

I detest that subtitle. :funny:

I think that deleted scene from TASM should have been in the final cut.

A quite unnecessary addition if so.

I originally wanted them to call this one web of spider-man(still wish they did)

I think its a very good name for the movie imo
