Plus, I doubt she'd be interested in playing second fiddle to the extent that a superhero love interest requires. I have to say, I was perfectly ok with Shailene. I'm sure she would have been a good-to-great MJ.
Emma Stone just proved in the last two films though that a superhero love interest doesn't have to be second fiddle, I thought her character was strong and stood up on her own. You're right though, it's a downgrade from being the main person in the hunger games and a pretty big character in X-men.
The more I think about it, the more I think that maybe these films should have just kept Gwen, can't think of a TASM film without her in it
Most of the time, you could here a pin drop, nobody moved a muscle, nobody was eating or shuffling. Little bits of sobbing.
i guess ill just leave this thread lol, since i can't relate whatsoever to the people who think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I dont see how anyone can enjoy the villains which are clearly made with a 6 year old target audience in mind. With writing that is so bad, especially regarding the parents and the formulas. The intro which has some of the worst CG ive seen in a while, with bad acting from 2 actors/characters that nobody really cares about. Billy Idol's Goblin doing the deed to Gwen, with zero build up. He has 1 scene as the Goblin, does that iconic thing, then forms the sinister six. The movie is basically a trailer for S6.
