What are you hoping to achieve? Saying the movie is rubbish over and over again until people eventually come around to your thinking? You think ASM2 is rubbish, well that's fine, but I personally thought it was freaking awesome. You'll have no more luck convincing the people that liked it than they'll have of convincing you.

My fiancé said it was the best superhero movie she has seen in years, so basically we both like rubbish movie, you know what, we're fine with that.
Because it's a discussion forum. You and others come on here and say great things about the movie and i say bad things. It's how the world turns. in the Bat forums i had to put up with the same stuff you have. I would defend it, and others would bash it. Ive learnt that that's just how it goes. Only in my case im only doing it during the week of its release. I dont harp on bad movies for longer because im not wired that way. The movie is fresh in my mind and so im expressing my opinion while im here.

You're right. I shouldnt let it get to me. Ive dealt with worse! And i couldnt agree with you more regarding this movie. Everything you say is exactly how i see it. I have NO idea how people are invested in this. It's utter trash. My friend texted me with "this would be a kids b-movie if it wasn't for a few of the actors and their chemistry".

My love for Batman has literally nothing to do with how i see Spider-Man, or how i think a spider-man movie should be. I dont want it to be dark unless venom and carnage are there or something really tragic happens. My problem, is down to the writing of this movie, the limits they should have put on themselves regarding the villains, the director's choices, and the plot in general.

I'm not saying it has anything to do with how you see Spider man. I suppose I personally don't see the value in repeating the same points over to people who like the film.

I respect your opinion. Not everyone will like anything but its a shame you didn't like it. I'm lucky that I did. A lot.

Another thing most people going to these movies are not comic book readers and had no idea of the Gwen Stacy arc and the consequences. To assume otherwise is ridiculous.

These posts are way out of order. Fine you hated the movie but to post you cannot understand how people are invested in this is arrogance of the highest order. Your so superior to those who love it so why should I hang out with these idiots. Jesus!
There is no problem with saying that i personally dont understand how people are invested. You guys are too sensitive.

If i dont leave this thread, it's because you and a couple of others actually agree with me, therefore i dont think im crazy. My friend saw it and couldnt believe what a piece of **** it was LOL.

You realize others can have their opinion and might love it. So just because they don't agree with you and they love it you're gonna make a big deal about that? Come on dude. People love what they love, and people hate what they hate. Some in here loved it, but you hated it. And that's it. So leave the thread then if it bothers you so much to see people loved a film that you hated. Cause ya know what there will be films that you love that others will hate. Weird I know.

I wouldn't call it UTTER trash. That to me implies there's practically nothing good about it, and that isn't true, IMO. It's got Andrew, Emma, and even Dane's performance as Harry is very good.

Plus there is some nice action sequences in it. Not as good as the previous franchise, but still some good stuff in there. My only complaint would be too much reliance on CGI. Not enough of a balance between using that and stunt actors and wire work etc like Raimi did in his fight scenes.

Also with a movie that has three villains, we get only two fight scenes, and one of them was very short and bland overall. Disappointing.

Well the list isn't in order, but I do love Superman 2 and as a result Terrance Stamp's Zod. My favourite Superman movie! :D

I don't want to go off topic but I agree. I know most people say the first one is the best, and it is great, but to me S2 is even better. Zod and his crew are a big reason for that to me. That and I like the Clark and Lois relationship better, and the action was better, too.

Also, does anybody here think we should have a thread just for ratings? Like we put "?/10" and leave?

I believe this stickied thread is for people to vote their ratings.

Ah, thanks! :D

I never noticed that thread. :oldrazz:

OK im done with just ranting about the same stuff, because ive said what i needed to say. Im not going to ruin the fun around here. Like i said, im only here during this week. You guys can breathe lol.

But i will say that as much as i want a spidey movie to be fun, funny, etc. I still want it to be smart and not dumb. How is Gwen written to be the smartest woman on earth, she knows everything in this damn movie. It's so convenient that she knows it all when Spidey is in trouble.

Yes you're right. You do have a point. I mean for the fans since people were saying that they felt her death was shocking. That's not a word for them to use since we fans all knew it was happening in that scene and in that way especially.

I don't think it's fair to accuse someone of being a subtle troll on these forums. A lot of the time the accusations turn out to not be the case.

Utter trash IS a stupid thing to say. My bad. For those who dont know, i DID like Stone, Garfield, DeHaan and Field in this movie. Im not here to troll people or **** on everything. I **** on most of the film but it has the odd good point. I cant really think of any action sequences that were memorable though. Nothing comes to mind. I didnt like the video game fest with Electro. I really didnt like those fights. I would have replaced Electro with a villain that mattered to the overall plot. Electro didnt feel like it had anything to do with the themes or character development. He was just Harrys pawn by the end and filler like Rhino.

I wish it was Eddie Brock's story or just Harry, then they killed Gwen off with one of them.

How about you make this your last post......discussion is one thing...trolling is another....just let it drop and move on.

Shauner, I don't know if you're doing it intentionally but your post come across very aggressive, 'this is my opinion!' like you are attempting to convert people to your way of thinking. I loved the movie but I'm not about tell people to like what they clearly didn't, all I will say is 'this was Schumacher-esque' is an opinion not a fact.

OK i will. This right here is my last on this section of the board. Just want to say that im absolutely NOT trolling. It's not my intention.

I understand the Shumacher vibe feeling but to be honest, that's the reason I think it's good. :oldrazz:

The Hammy-ness makes sense in Spidey's world.

Anyway, Imma leave this thread because now I feel like I'm overdoing it somehow lol/

It's totally fair. Have you SEEN some of his arguments?

If you don't like what someone says....you can ignore them, discuss civilly with them, or report them.....derailing threads by complaining about them does no one any good....so stop it now.

For the record the reason why for me this is the best Spider-Man movie is because my favorite versions of Spider-Man was Lee/Ditko and Stern/JRJR and the villians, the emotion, the drama was those comics I love so much put on the big screen. I don't think it is 'hammy' or 'chessy' I think it is 'comic booky'.

I haven't seen the movie yet, as it doesn't come out in the states until next Friday. But it seems that you hated the movie, and are mad because others liked it. Its called opinions and everyone is entitled to them. I am sure you like a movie or movies that most people hate. So chill out. And your complaint is weird. Personally, I would rather Gwen be a smart character rather than just a lame damsel in distress that mopes and whines the entire film example, MJ from Rami's movies. She literally got captured during the climax in all three films.......

QFT

The Raimi films can be a campy as they want to much acclaim (the first 2 anyway) but the "camp" in this film is Batman and Robin 2.

One more question for people that have seen this. Do they mention the whereabouts of Doc Conners/ Lizard? Since Ravencroft is in the movie, wouldn't that mean he is there as well locked up? Does Doc Conners make a cameo or a simple reference?

I pretty much agree with all of your criticisms. But I will add the caveat that as someone who prefers the Raimi movies (well 2 of them, TASM2 is better than SM3), this one really captured the essence of the character when in the mask better than anything before. So, I enjoyed the first fight scene with Electro because of the way he interacted with "Sparkles" and the crowd around him. I also liked the Rhino bit at the end again, not because of Giamatti's terrible hamming, but because of how Garfield played the scene.

Otherwise though, yeah, the action scenes were very video game like. It just surprises me that Sony did such a good job with the first two, but has been unable to produce a good script with Spidey in three movies.

Why was Gwen searching for Max Dillion (Oscorp internal internet)?
