I do agree he is a great actor i just never had him in mind for any superhero roles. But if he was to do one if the trailer/promos peak my interest i would see it. As for aquaman if they truly get this to happen i hope they treat the character in a seriously manner so it can help get the character out of just being a joke.

DiCrapio is good, but I can't look at him and NOT remember The Departed's William Costigan.

Michael Fassbender has my vote

I want the badass Aquaman from the comics. Time to redeem the character.

Is it too much to hope that DeCaprio brings some part of James Cameron aboard AQUAMAN?

I can see Michael Fassbender and Ryan Gosling as Aquaman. I also agree that Aquaman should be portrayed as a badass on screen.

This could be a great movie if it is done right. It's sort of funny to see that they're seriously thinking about making an "Aquaman" movie after the "Entourage" arc. I don't think the real movie will be as successful as it was in "Entourage," but with DiCaprio involved, it could be a huge hit if done right.

I do not like Leo for the look of Aquaman, he is no way looks Regal or Kingley.

They didnt say Leo was playing Aquaman, only that his production company is producing.

What does it mean to look "regal" or "kingly", exactly?

Yea the article did state as of right now only leo's production company is invovled and maybe he could end up being a producer on the project too. As i said personally he is a good actor one of the best of his generation but not who i want to see as aquaman, i agree it would be great if they go with making him serious and badass, maybe do the bearded look but keep his hands normal atless for the first film then maybe in sequels go the whole water hand/hook deal.

If they go for an older, wiser, Arthurian inspired Orin (which is what I hope):
I say Daniel Craig

For the half-breed traditional superhero/Arthur Curry
I say Simon Baker

If you go for a mix
I say Michael Fassbender

Yea we first need to know which take of the character they want to go. Do you want to go with the young arthur curry clean shaven look, older wiser bearded look, water hand, hook hand, etc.....

He's producing Adam Strange, too (at least that's how I read it). I'd have no problem with him playing Strange. :yay:

Michael Fassbender is becoming my favourite for Aquaman.

Gosling seems to hate big blockbuster movies. All he seems to make is independent films

Anyone else think Leo's house is just going to end up sitting on this for a while?

it could happen as we have seen with pretty much any dc film wb comes out and says they are going to do, we are sitting for years on flash/ww/etc.... characters so it could happen. Hopefully it wont and hopefully things are really changing with dc films in wb and them seriously looking to get it done.

Fassbender would be a cracking choice for Aquaman, hes a really talented actor with great range and physically in really good shape to.

Hes probably my all round favourite but I also think Philiip Winchester has a good look for the role I just dont know much about his acting.

Someone like him but younger.

But NOT DiCaprio please. He has too much of a baby face.

I know what you mean. I have a hard time imagining DiCaprio as any superhero.

From a strictly physical standpoint, I would still like Charlie Hunnam. :yay:

Really? 10 years ago I'd agree, but nowadays he looks his age, if not older.

Nah, he looks like in his early to mid 20s to me. It's the round face he has and all. I thought he was laughable in The Aviator. And I don't consider him handsome either. He is average looking. He is a very good actor, though.

But Aquaman needs someone who looks like a MAN. He IS the king of Atlantis.

I don't think he really looks all that young, it's just that his face is round and a little pudgy. I like my superheroes to have a more chiseled appearance.
