The best way to get the same effect as in the comics is for the actress playing Jessica Drew not to wear a costume at all, but simply to wear body paint, like they do for those Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models spreads each year where they paint on their bikinis. :woot:

I was thinking the same thing. :hehe:

Be a bit of tension there considering Blunt was originally cast as Widow..

have just seen that Ant-man is the most vote!

Love that!!

hope Marvel isnt afraid of his own movie and announce it this year or early 2013.

But they HAVE to keep the sexy red and yellow costume. That is one of the sexiest costumes in comics, so they better not modify it to something more "practical" and less skin tight.

In that case then Helllllooooooo Catwoman.

Not a good idea. I like the costume but there's no reason to make it tacky for the same reason you wouldn't make Captain America's costume tacky.

Who would you guys cast for Pietro and Wanda?

I was thinking something like Logan Lerman and Phoebe Tonkin... too young?
I'd wait to see what the actual status of the Maximoff twins is, because as far as I understand it, they're owend by Marvel Studios, but the Magneto conncetion is owned by Fox, and I still don't believe any of the crap that Fox owns the right to mutants.

With that said, no thanks to both your choices.
I got no offers for Pietro, but some for Wanda:

Mila Kunis
Rashida Jones
Michelle Trachtenberg, for a younger Wanda
Decent choices, I'd personally go for more mature looking actresses.
What do these three have in common, besides being hotties? They're all of Russian descent, and I think would bring some ethnic authenticity to the character.
Wait... Wanda is Russian?
No, the Maximoff's aren't Russian. They're German and of other European descent.
In the unlikely event that Jessica Drew comes up in the movie, I think I'd want her played by Emily Blunt...
Good choice, but I'd prefer Eliza Dushku or Jordana Brewster to be Spider Woman, and have Blunt be Madame Masque.
Not bad. Jessica was British originally anyway.

I'd say copy the materials from Sony's Amazing Spider-Man.

No.:o

No tension at all; at least not with Blunt or Marvel, only another issue with Fox keeping Blunt because of her contract with them to film the failure Gulliver's Travels.
That's like saying Marvel Studios will have tension with Jessica Chastain because she couldn't do Iron Man 3.

Not that horrible snake skin thing. I want Spider-Woman's costume to be nice and smooth. She doesn't need scales on her costume as I think it will spoil her look and make it too busy. Her comic costume is perfect and doesn't need updating or improving upon.

Spidey's costume doesn't have scales.

Is that the Hype's new thing? First it was a basketball texture, now it's snake skin? Seems like a drastic change.

Well whatever it is, it would still ruin the nice smooth effect that Spider-Woman should have on her body.

His suit is the smoothest spandex looking costumes should look onscreen.

I'd dare to say his costume is the tightest, properly fitted costume in a superhero movie.

Unless Sony gives Spidey to Marvel I doubt we'll ever see Spider-Woman.

Spider-Woman isn't traditionally associated with Spider-Man at all. She's not a spin off but a completely separate character and doesn't occupy even the same world as him, except for when Marvel have done crossovers before. But if we're going by crossovers, then everyone who appeared with Spider-Man in say, Marvel Team-Up would fall under Sony's ownership of Spider-Man.

Do you mean that Sony would on Avengers  and although I agree Spider Woman does have very little to do with Spider Man, bar being in Avengers with him, we all know when the public here Spider Woman, they're going to link it with Spider Woman.

I'm saying that since you can link everyone to Spider-Man (since he's Marvel's equivalent of Kevin Bacon) that if you go by that reasoning, then Sony would try to claim ownership of anyone who has teamed up with him, including yes, the Avengers. But of course we all know that this isn't the case with Sony's property rights which simply wouldn't extend that far.

and although I agree Spider Woman does have very little to do with Spider Man, bar being in Avengers with him, we all know when the public here Spider Woman, they're going to link it with Spider Woman.

Yep. Spider-Woman will be linked with Spider-Woman. :cwink:

But seriously though, whether or not the public links Spider-Woman with Spider-Man, that has nothing to do with whether or not Sony actually owns Jessica Drew or any of the other Spider-Women. The only one I could see Sony potentially owning is Spider-Girl (May Parker) since she shares the same costume as Spider-Man and is an actual spin-off from characters in that world. Jessica Drew isn't.

Heheh, woops. Yes, well I doubt Marvel will buy any movie from another studio. The only way they will get the characters back is if they get Disney to offer enough money to buy the rights to the characters and do reboots.

But the point I'm making is that we don't know if Sony owns Jessica Drew Spider-Woman, especially since she's not part of Peter Parker's world. So Disney/ Marvel Studios might own her already and won't have to pay anything to get her back. Just because she has "Spider" in her name doesn't necessary mean she falls under Sony's umbrella with their ownership of Spider-Man.

The only other Spider character I think Sony would probably own under their Spider-Man contract is Spider-Girl (May Parker) for the reasons I said above. Owning Jessica Drew would extend their contract too far, which would mean then they could try claiming ownership of every other Marvel character who is "associated" with Spider-Man (which means practically everyone), which of course they can't.

Spider-Woman has never been even remotely tied to Peter Parker's story. Sony has no more rights to her than they would to, say, She-Hulk.

Saw a good suggestion for Mockingbird somewhere - Kaley Cuoco. I reckon she could handle some action and drama if they do a SHIELD spin-off movie or something.

I dunno - Cobie Smulders did pretty well at the transition from TV comedy

Because she has talent, Cuoco doesn't.

Colbie might; but it sure wasn't on display in the Avengers, when she sleepwalked her way through a totally nonessential turn as Maria Hill that nobody gave a damn about.

I'll just say my theater disagree's with that assessment. Maria got plenty of cheers in the beginning of the movie during the chase scene, and the girl next to me said Hill was bad ass.

Granted, they had bigger sign of enjoyment and cheers to the rest of the movie, but Hill was not a wasted role an Smulders didn't do any sleepwalking through it; unlike Cuoco's whole Charmed existence.

Transian.
But that's a fictional country, somewhere in the Balkans. Bottom line, it'd be nice for the actress that plays Wanda to be Eastern European.

Gotcha. It'd be nice, assuming they are also the best actress for the part otherwise, yeah, but it's not something that makes the movie better, or allows her to play the part better (unless, y'know, she was actually a nomadic Romani and she can draw on that).

I wonder if Mads Mikkelsen passed on Malekith, Marvel might still consider him for Ultron (if that's who they're going with)?

I wouldn't mind that. He's a great actor

I have no idea what character she would play, but Alice Eve needs to be in a Marvel movie at some point. Just saw her in Crossing Over and just... wow!!

(She wouldve been a great Emma Frost btw)

If she needs to dye her hair, so be it. Just cast her pronto!!

Ms. Marvel or Mockingbird are obvious choices. In fact, now Im certain - Alice Eve IS Carol Danvers:

Make it happen Joss!!

edit: okay someone at CBR beat me to it:
