Soooo sorry if there were spoilers in that video. Lol i didnt actually make it to the end. My bad.
After reading some of the British and French reviews , Im a bit surprised how well-respected Whedon was by most of the critics. They took his talents for granted. Nowhere near that universal in the US.
Fans simply aren't immune to the ugly. I cringe any time I see a poster here or elsewhere use "******" or "gay" in the prejorative sense. When they attacked Amy's gender instead of critiquing the merits of her review, it was absolutely cringeworthy. Every fandom has their ugly side. I wish we could be better than that.
I agree Suzanne... very smart comment about the whole "gay" and "******" thing... It's one thing to criticize or call something stupid but to use those sorts of derogatory words as synonyms isn't right at all. In the 70s and even 80s it was accepted but certainly not now.
If her review is to be criticized it should be on the basis of what was written, the merit of either how well written or poorly thought out the review was. I've seen a number of comments on here and other websites exclaiming how that critic should even be raped... it's really quite sad.
I feel like Alexei is perched on a large corner of a building or tower, wearing his own Batman get up (yes with all teh puffy in check) crouching as best as his flexibility will allow him to perched with his paper mache cape crumpling and cracking in the air as he keeps watch over movie theaters across the US to monitor this so called beast that is Avengers.

That was epic. Either the greatest review ever or the most disturbing. I was fascinated at the end as she realized she may never see anything this perfect again. Thumbs up for her cool/weirdness. (She also mutters some spoiler stuff that I managed to avoid with the mute button)
Not the greatest review but I did find the reference pretty amusing.'"The Avengers" is neither overwhelming nor underwhelming. What it expertly is, is whelming." NY Post

I am still calling a 93% final score. With any luck it won't drop that far however.
