The Dark Knight Rises The Avengers will be direct competition in 2011

He's already discussed the process of working with Marvel Studios and basically admitted that it's not for everyone, but he doesn't mind it because he comes from the comics world and understands why you need continuity between stories.

Yeah. Exactly. I wish Dark Knight Rises was the last one ever made.

As someone who's been a longtime fan of CBMS, and a lurker on this site for a while, I have to say this is the dumbest ****ing statement I have ever read. Ever. The sheer amount of blinding WTFness if this statment is higher than levels The Mayor, The_Red_Hood, Alexei Belyakov, or even the worst trolls at CBM's comment section.

Really? You don't want another superhero movie. Ever.

Thank god the vast majority of the planet has the opposite opinion of you. Cuz guess what pal? Not only are more superhero movies coming, but there'll be even more of them. Marvel Studios is even planning to eventually release 3 a year.

So yeah, tough **** for you.

Not to mention, between Marvel and Fox, I think he'll stay with Marvel. I mean, though Marvel probably put some things they wanted him to do in front of him, it's not nearly as bad as what Fox did to his Alien 4 script.

Way to attack someone for just stating their own opinion - their own outlook - their own way of how they see things.

I vehemently disagree with what RedSkull said, but I'm not going to just go on full attack-mode like that. I find it hilarious that you call out certain users as trolls when you make such 'passionate' and extreme posts like this.

Oh please, I've seen people called trolls on these boards for far less. Not liking Bane's mask as much as someone else? Troll. Not as hyped by the trailer? Troll. Not liking Bane's coat as much as everyone else? Troll.

So please, it's completely legitimate for me to call someone who literally does not want Avengers to succeed just because it's Marvel a troll.

That happens in every single forum. So what? You just came in here to passionately attack someone just because you became hurt by what they say. It's pretty stupid to call someone a troll for having a different opinion than you and also explaining the reasons behind them.

The polite way is to engage in discussion with RedSkull and ask him the reasoning behind what he said. Instead, you just flat out replied to him with an angry fanboy-ish outburst.

The bottom line: RedSkull's not a troll.

And this isn't fanboyish at all?

I know TDKR will outgross the avengers. I personally cannot wait to see it crush Marvel's crappy, loud movies with their scarlett johansen and numerous explosions

.

Not to mention the fact that if his ideas, god forbid, actually came to fruition, this site would literally no longer have a purpose for existing.

So, yeah, I really don't think his idea is one that I should really treat with respect, since it goes against the basic reasoning for the creation of the entire goddamn forum.

And this isn't fanboyish at all?.

No, that is RedSkull's humble opinion, which I disagree with. Now, if you asked him the reasoning behind this, and he called you names or attacked you for disagreeing with him, then that would be extreme fanboyism in play.

Also, if RedSkull went to the Avengers forum and started saying these things just to stir things up there, then that would be trolling.

So wait, it's trolling if you dislike a movie...in the forum about the movie?

WTF?

So if I say I hate Bane's coat, which I do, it's trolling, if I say it as much as, say, people who do like it say they like it?

It's trolling if you say it to stir things up without explaining yourself, which RedSkull didn't do. Obviously if you specially go to bash something on the relevant forum where you've never posted and are not interested in posting, then that would be very suspicious.

Point is, it's IMO a dumb idea, and thus I say it's dumb.

That's fine, but no need to attack someone just because you disagree with it. You are labelling someone because you got hurt by his comments. You just falt out attacked him without engaging in discussion, as far as I'm concerned.

Trolling is baiting someone into an argument or controversy of some sort, distinct by the fact the person does it knowingly to those ends. It's the internet equivalent of starting a bar fight with a stranger and accusing them of "looking at you funny", even when they didn't. Expressing ones opinion, no matter how ignorant, doesn't automatically make you a troll... if his agenda was provoking marvel fans then a far more effective way of doing so would be on their forums. Saying that, I don't think any 'more' of RedSkull after such an absurd comment, whether he were technically a troll or not. It's kind of irrelevant, but seeing as we're discussing 'definitions' here, I thought i'd put in my two cents.

That's not necessarily a good thing. I, honestly, believe this is where Marvel Studios is doing the genre a disservice.

Overexposure is not a grand idea.

I'm inclined to agree with you, but we'll see. It's possible that they might do two movies a year and one straight-to-DVD. They're not stupid; they know that over-saturation will kill them in the end.

They might not all be summer releases. Two in summer and one in Fall/Winter would be fine with me.

Well, the way you replied to him sounded like you were hurt and angry, but whatever.

Oh, I was ****ing angry, but I wasn't hurt. I just don't like the idea of self-supposed fans of a film wanting the genre of that film to flat out end, especially if it's my favorite genre.

Eh, I'm not so sure about that.

There's talks/rumors of Black Panther, Ant-Man, Wasp, Doctor Strange, and Namor. On top of Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2 and possibly Hulk 3.

And that's not including Sony's reboot of the Spiderman, Fox's X-Men: First Class 2 and Origins: Wolverine 2, and WB's reboot of Superman.

These next couple of years will be jam-packed with Superhero/CBMs.

This entire thread is completely pointless given the dates changed and the two films were spaced 3 months apart.

Harshly said, but I agree.
