Skinny Superman? I've never read Flashpoint... was that actually what they called him?

Naw, its just that
In that altered timeline, Kal-El's baby pod landed in Metropolis instead of Smallville, and Kal was taken in by the government to be experimented on. He was kept in an underground cell, never having been exposed to sunlight since, so he was weak and skinny when Barry and his allies found him. Barry (who came from the regular timeline) still referred to him as Superman. I just called him skinny Superman because he was skinny there.

I do recommend reading the story. I quite enjoyed it. Actually, better yet, watch the animated film adaption, Flashpoint Paradox. It made some slight changes to the comic, which I thought was for the better. I enjoyed the hell out of that one.

Yeah, I've heard good things about it. I'll have to give it a shot. It certainly sounds interesting.

i know a lot of people don't like him, but the more I think about it, the more I think Justin Timberlake is perfect for Barry Allen.

I actually think there might be a decent chance he's cast too. He just did a movie with Ben Affleck, and he was one of the final contenders for Green Lantern in the 2011 movie.

If people can get over Ben Affleck as Batman, they could get over Timberlake as Flash. Casting Timberlake as Flash could kind of mirror the Batfleck casting. Both of them made some dodgy choices early on in their careers, and both have tried to legitimize themselves as they've gotten older.

Except that Timbershake still sucks.

No **** him as The Flash. I don't want him anywhere near a DC property. I ****ing hate that guy.

He's just such of a p*ssy any way you look at him.

He's such a self centered little ****. The antithesis of Flash in many ways....at least Ben Affleck has somewhat of the billionaire playboy thing down where I can see it a little bit. Timberlake just all around sucks, I'm sorry.

That's exactly how I feel about the other Justin......Justin Beiber.

I dislike Timberlake's music, but the man does have a certain charm and charisma. He would be far from my first choice. Very far. But I wouldn't crap a brick if I heard he was cast. Never happening btw, so you can relax KS.

So, that's a no on Timberlake then?

Timberlake is such a softly spoken *****. He is no flash

That's kind of the way I feel about him. I don't think he's really that bad of an actor. I just personally don't see him being in a Superhero movie.

If we're casting the Flash, I'd want someone who can pull off comedic dialogue. I think Flash can be the DC's Tony Stark in terms of humour and snark. Of course, that would also depend on the writing too.

Big thing I'm worried about and don't want with Flash is that they make him like Hal Jordan in JL: War, he was ultra annoying and it's just bad. However, if Barry/Flash is exactly how Barry/Flash was in JL: War that will be perfect, he was handled excellent there, that's very much what I want to see on film for Flash.

I don't think he's been suggested before... at least not recently... but Matthew McConaughey would make an excellent Flash

I agree in terms of having a limit between comedy and just dumb trying-too-hard comedy. How would you feel if Barry was written like how he was in JLAS and JLU?

McConaughey woul make a bad*** Flash. Think they'll go a bit younger though.

You guys will get Grant and you'll like it! :argh:

I think that was Wally, not Barry

Well that was technically Wally, although it's really Wally in name and looks only as they took Barry's story, origin, and job, life, and status as The Flash as well as elements of Impulse's personality and tacked it onto him, but the JL/JLU Flash was really it's own thing a lot of ways because none of The Flashes are much like how he was portrayed on that show, they wanted him to be the jokey dumb guy on the team. And it works in the context of the show that they did him that way, the portrayals they had for everyone had great chemistry in that show and I loved that, but they really dumbed him down and dulled his power usage down a lot so the show could last more than 5 or 10 minutes, especially with Superman, who they did a similar thing with power wise in the show for a while, mostly so the other characters could do things and because they were still new to writing a team a lot. The Flash in the comics is a much more intelligent and serious character - all versions are, the JL/JLU version came off a bit two dimensional to me at times, so I don't really want to see that in a live action film. How he was written in JL: War was perfect and exactly how he should be in all mediums really, but especially live action - had the right blends of everything, so something like that is more what I'd like to see.

GL in JL: War was like JLU Flash 2.0, but more of a pig....and annoying, with virtually no redeemable characteristics sans his cool use if his powers, unlike the JL/JLU Flash who was at least likable at times.
