Back to the OP,
not sure if I've posted it in this particular thread but my choices are
related to which Flash shows up (and IMO there's nothing wrong with
having both of them, given the amount of time travel that goes on in
the Flash series).
For Barry
1. Chris Pine, he's got the look, and quite a bit of charm and humour,
which are essential parts of Barry's character.
2. Garrett Hedlund, also has the look, not quite as charming as Pine, but
believable as an earnest and likeable Barry.
3. Ryan Gosling, has the look, probably could carry off the humour, but
my only concern is that he may not have Barry's earnest moral centre.
4. Bradley Cooper, not quite the look, but he's got a lot of personality that would carry the film, and gets better with every performance. I reckon he'd bring a great energy, humour and warmth to the character.
To be honest, given his personality, I think that Ryan Reynolds would have been a much better choice for the Flash.
I can't comment on Grant Gustin, as Arrow hasn't got that far down here yet. Mind you, if he turns out to be good, why not make the leap to the big screen, from the small screen.
For Wally, again, given the time travel possibilities you could have a young Wally, and then an adult Wally showing up. These choices are based on Wally as a young adult, in his late teens to early 20's
1. Logan Lerman, say what you want about Percy Jackson films, but he's likeable, which is the key to making Wally a good character - he's a hot-head but he's not an annoying ass.
2. Josh Hutcherson, another pretty likeable kid (capable of range of emotion, i.e. Bridge to Terabithia ) can hold his own onscreen with actors with much more presence.
And that's where I'm up to so far, but hey it's all IMO.
If any of you folk up there in the Northern hemisphere have seen Gustin's Flash, or even his Barry Allen, and want to share some thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
cheers.
