final crisis was a most wonderful mind f**k. i think its one of the best stories told in comics in recent memory.

Even if you're not reading blackest night I highly recommend blackest night Batman #1. It has some of the best Batman & Robin moments of the new era and is better than that winnick written stuff from last week. Lots of win in there including Deadman but the highlights to me were

yeah, tomasi did a great job. i'd like to see him replace winnick ASAP.

I would've loved to see Dick give him a good slap across the face though in true Batman fashion hahaha.

Just finished Brian A's "Joker". It was good, but I wasn't blown away. Joker's dialogue was top-notch and I defy anyone to not hear Heath's voice while reading it. The art is superb, rendering Gotham and it's rogues in (what I consider) a hyper-realistic style. I really enjoyed seeing classic villains presented this way, though I did wonder why Riddler had a gimpy leg. Speaking of Mr. Nigma, did anyone else think he looked like Mitch Hedberg? If you're looking for a story set in the Nolan-verse, this is as close as you're gonna get. It isn't anywhere we haven't already been with the Joker, but he makes the ride so much fun.

Does anyone else agree that it's time to bring back Tim as Robin?

not really. I think he's more than ready to be his own man. Maybe not as red robi, but he cou create his own identity when bruce comes back.

Although, Damian is becoming shan interesting character, I think he should stay robin anyway.:brucebat:

well, Tim will always be Robin in my eyes.

I can understand that. It's not that easy to le a child leave home. But you have to do it. For me, "a lonely place of dying" will always be one of the best batman stories ever. :brucebat:

I haven't read a lot of Batman comics, but the one's I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend are:

Batman: Year One
The Long Halloween
The Killing Joke
The Man Who Laughs

Also I'm not a big fan of Robin, but I think the Morrison run with Batman & Robin is interesting so far. Too soon to tell how great it will be.

So you don't like the new Batman?

You said you didn't like Robin and Dick Grayson was Robin for about 40 years.

I see what you mean. I don't like the idea of Batman having Robin as a sidekick, but I do find Damien interesting.

Tim DRAKE IS THE SHIZZY!

anyone who says they like Batman & not Robin is a dumb block head!

Robin has helped shape Batman, make him who he is for 60+ years!

Besides Robin comes with Batman as part of a packaged deal.

its like in the kinder surprise, roin is the surpise and batman is the chocolate. :brucebat:

I think everyone and their mother needs to be reminded that Batman existed for like 9 months out of 60 years without a Robin running around. If you don't like Robin, you don't like DC Comics' Batman.

Can i get some information out of this? Like were the sales poor, why was there no Robin, and so on? :D Would love to slap some haters with that.

Sales wise, I have no clue. I kind of doubt there'd be any good stats to come out of it.

Suffice it to say, Batman was created in May of 1939 and Robin premiered just 11 months later in April of 1940 and has rarely left Batman's world since. And when he has, whether it be with Dick becoming Nightwing or Jason Todd dying, Robin's always returned. Pretty quickly too. That's gotta account for something.

Ah thats excelent! Because Batman WAS doing poorly and Bill Finger wanted to create a character that Batman could actually talk with, hence they made Robin! :D

I recommend the elseworld tale where Batman and the Joker are pirates, it is drawn by a great artist by the name of Enrique Alcatena. He also drew another beautiful Elseworld tale called the "Batman of Arkham", the passage where Batman gets poisoned by the Joker venom is epic.
Also I really enjoyed Red Rain and Bloodstorm.
