"Another villain tv show" in my wet dreams is a Breaking Bad/BCS style show about how Harvey Dent falls and become BigBadHarv, during a new (and legitimate, this time) process against Sal Maroni.

October release date for a Batman movie is sending me.
Not getting it in 2021 was sad, but losing that October date considering it's Halloween timeframe was sad.

October is my birthday month, Halloween is the best holiday... Batman, bats, spooky.

A Batman release in October just makes too much sense. I sincerely approve.

It's also my birthday month.

I really feel like The Batman really would've been even more a vibe if it kept its original October '21 release date.

Isn't Reeves the nicest guy ever? lol.
I like the title and hope we get some news soon. And with Damian being the Robin of the main DCU, does this mean Battinson will have its Robin in the form of Dick? I'll totally approve that.

I know I was one of the people who still believed there was a real chance Gunn was being coy and there were secret plans to backdoor Pattinson into the DCU.

After today, I'm happy to take off the tinfoil hat and say I was wrong. I still think it might be weird having two Batmen at the same time, and it's a shame if Keaton's role in The Flash is only a one-off. It'd be amazing if it turned out they were gonna make Damian the son of Keaton's Bruce, but I kinda doubt it. We'll see. A Bat-family movie could be a lot of fun, it's just admittedly a bit strange to think that we're really doing two concurrent Batman continuities-- but hey, I guess it'll live and die on the quality.

It isn't gonna blow my mind if The Batman - Part II is the end of it to make room for DCU Batman and they're being nice right now because everyone wants that movie to happen. But that's just me being a negative Nancy.

i did notice they worded it in the article as The Batman part II being next but a third film being a bit up in the air at the moment. Personally, I think a third film will very likely happen.

One of the greatest strengths of Reeves Batman is one that hasn't been done since Keaton.

Keaton's Batman was a freak. A weirdo. And seen as such.

Pattinson's Batman seems to take from that well, too.

It's an angle of Batman that isn't always played up - but I'm glad to see it brought back to an onscreen portrayal.

Between The Dark Knight and The Batman - it's clear Gotham News will show just about anyone's murder on TV, no matter how graphic.

Penguin suggesting Batman ask Mayor Mitchell's wife who the woman in the photo was...was actually a smart suggestion.

Mitchell and his wife could've been a poly/open relationship/ethical non-monogamy but hiding it due to image, therefore the wife would've known at least something about Annika.

Or they could've been quietly separated but staying legally married until his campaign was over. Or she knew he was cheating.

Either way, it was a good suggestion.

Supergirl and Mister Miracle are pretty great. But I also liked Heroes in Crisis, so.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Mister Miracle, Superman: Up in the Sky and Omega Men are all masterpieces, imo. Some of the best comics I’ve ever read. His Batman stuff was hit and miss but it had some great parts. LOVED “Cold Days” and the “Superfriends” stories. I think he’s just better with singular, self-contained stories than ongoing runs. He’s definitely a massive talent, though, imo.

Gotham City: Year One and Batman - One Bad Day: The Riddler are really great as well IMO.

It's possible but I also get the feeling if very successful and profitable, the higher ups above Gunn might say "yeah no don't you ****ing dare". Cuz ultimately, that's all that really matters to guarantee a franchise. If the movies are successful, more will almost certainly get made. And seeing as Gunn's being open with this Elseworlds label, I don't see him just killing the Reevesverse like that.

Being that this is only the first half of the first phase of a much bigger arc here, I do want to point out that it's entirely possible there's some sort of crisis/multiverse event in the cards for down the line. Given that Gunn said the Flash movie will tee up the DCU, that tells us that the multiverse is still canon. (Tinfoil hat coming back on!)

What I'm saying though is that Gunn should be equally invested in the success of all of these projects, otherwise I don't think he's doing his job right. Any of them could still be a part of a larger narrative down the line even if it's considered Elseworlds-- and regardless it's just more positive exposure for the DC brand.

I guess if Part II underperforms their expectations they might recalibrate, but as of now I doubt Reeves would be continuing if they were going to cut him off at two movies.

Going to be hard for them to get rid of Reeves’s Batverse with stats like this compared to other DCU announcement tweets yesterday. Especially if the Penguin series and The Batman II is a big hit.
