The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 4

It was just show that we don't have a Nightwing as tall as Batman lol

Haha i like how all these people are saying "height doesnt matter" when thats the only thing being commented on from my posts. Kinda contradicts what youre saying if the only thing youre commenting on is the height... hmmm
If the height didn't matter, theres no reason to state that, you couldve commented on the actual point of that post, which was casting suggestions

No, that's completely illogical. You are assuming that I would have commented on your post had you not cited the actors' heights. I wouldn't have. I have no comment to make, other than that including an actor's height in your criteria for selection is silly.

Camera tricks can be used yes. I just would prefer Robin to be shorter than Batman... It may be silly but thats how theyve always been portrayed

How about Jessica Chastain as Pamela Isley?

Sure it could work in the next few years, but by the time we see a new take on this character it definately wont be able to happen. She's 35 right now. She'll probably be in her late 40s, maybe her 50s by the time we see this character again.

I think doing fancasting for the Batman reboot is always fun but at this stage there's no use. With the new rumors that a Bat movie may only come out in 2019 now..with its sequels happening between 10-15 years from this point...it seems a bit useless.

Not trying to be a buzzkill, but its true. We're talking about an entire new generation of young actors who will be chosen.

The only thing that works out are the Leslie Thompkins, Gordon, Alfred, Fox castings. I still stand by Helen Mirren for Leslie. Cranston could still work but he'll be a 60s something Jim Gordon.

I would also like an established Batman but with an actor that signs up for at least three films. I hate to watch a different actor play Batman, like the Burton franchise after Batman Returns. Im a bit of a continuity freak.

2019? Goodbye Cruel World :(
Yeah there's a huge chance now that JL will be scrapped/delayed til next decade (which is good news) so theyll focus on Man Of Steel and bring the bat reboot closer to 2019.

Its a long friggin wait and i wont be able to take it lol, but it's for the best.

We should be looking at actors in their 60s at the moment for Alfred. I dont think they should use Lucius Fox next time around but it gives Denzel Washington a greater chance to do it eventually.

It might decrease Bryan Cranstons chances on playing Jim Gordon (unless they want a 60s Commish-which they should do anyway to change it up). But the director may want a Batman 2 years into his career. They may be looking at an actor in his 40s by the end of the decade. Which is a bit sad because we all seem to want Cranston in the role.

Forget casting Robin. It's completely useless. We wont see Dick Grayson for 10 years at least. These kids may not even be involved in the industry currently. Could be the same situation with Barbara Gordon.

2017 if JL does get off the ground. But if MOS is a big thing, theyll be delaying Batman to around 2019.

I just hope they go the Arkham route. That would be something to wait for.

Well it's not so bad I suppose...all the actor's I have in mind will still be in WB's range of scope :oldrazz:

I'm not at all sure about that. Batman is already popular, and even if they abandon JLA for the nonce, they will still want to reboot Batman. I tend to think we'll see a new Batman 2016 at the absolute latest.

I wonder if we'll ever get a skinny, black receding hair, thin black mustache Alfred in live action?

The nonce?

I don't like trying to peg dates for the next batman. It should be a natural progression when they have the right script and director, producers etc. in place. As opposed to WB just setting a deadline for 2017 or something and saying "make it happen now".

Whilst I agree, I have no doubt that the right director, writers etc are all out there and waiting. This must be a dream job for so many.

Until that day................................are we there yet?

The latest? 2016/17 would be the earliest. 2019 the latest.
