The Batman Reboot JOKER Casting Thread

^ Welcome to the Hype.

So it seems like Willem Dafoe is the new Crispin Glover:woot::cwink:
I love Dafoe but I'd rather see someone closer in age to Affleck. Especially if it takes a few years before we see the character again on the big screen. I don't want (Bad) Grandpa Joker:woot:

Throwing it back out there but Walt Goggins, Sharlto Copley, Jude Law, Paul Bettany, and Vincent Cassel all are close to Ben's age and would make helluva good Jokers.

i'd actually be amazed if they se the joker for any of afflecks batfilms bar the very last.

i cans see them wanting to put as much time between the new version and ledger as possible

also harley is a must seriously its about time she was used the whole dynamic could be an easy way to make the jokers reappearance something different from what we've seen, still facepalm when i think of nolans comments and i may be paraphrasing that he would never have her in any of his films

I know it might feel strange with their history together but in a few years I wouldn't mind seeing Matt Damon take on the Joker. He was pretty creepy in Ripley and is a great versatile actor.

You must be joking.....

It's my opinion and it's ok if you don't share it. As I mentioned before I'd like to see someone like Michael Pitt or Aaron Paul in the role and at this point I'm just throwing more ideas out there for fun and not necessarily the same names that a lot of people seem to be repeating. Hope it's ok with you.(Nice gif, Bale would make a great Joker too.)

A few more actors that I think might be interesting in the role:

Sam Rockwell
Joaquim Phoenix
Viggo Mortenssen
Michael Fassbender
Woody Harrelson
Steve Buscemi

Sam Rockwell FTW!

Joaquin Phoenix would be a good Two-Face or Black Mask. Fassbender wouldn't be a bad pick for Joker. Steve Buscemi or Andy Serkis should be the Mad Hatter.

You should have said "and I thought my jokes were bad" with an Heath gif:cwink::woot:
:cwink: probably!

Fassbender would be great for everything lol. Joaquin is always a great choice. Riddler/Joker/Black Mask. Ill take any.

BTW i actually enjoy the fact that you actively suggest a bunch of new names for roles.

Joaquim would be very interesting!
I have to correct you guys cuz it drives me nuts when people say his name wrong :woot:

It's Joaquin. No M.

 Cool, I like your ideas and enthusiasm for the characters:yay:
And thanks for reminding me it's Joaquin:woot:

I too appreciate new suggestions, but i can't see any of these working at all. All of these guys are solid actors but fit different characters.

I'd be quite disappointed if we went from Heath Ledger to any of these guys.

I'm biased and setting myself up for disappointment since I can basically only see Willem Dafoe as Joker now lol.

Your suggestion of a cgi Conrad Veidt is actually pretty intriguing, even though you may have been joking.

In like 10 years or something, a cgi Joker with Mark Hamill's voice could be so awesome.

I was serious, I'm also intrigued by this possibility and maybe it could be something unique and different. And with Hamill's voice it would be even better:woot::up:

I have to believe that somewhere on this planet, there is a talented actor with a striking similarity to Veidt. If we ever got a Joker than looked like a dead-ringer for Veidt in The Man Who Laughs, I'd slouch dead in my seat.

Hell, Tarantino plucked Christoph Waltz out of obscurity, and the entire movie-going world is thankful for it.

Do people still like Adrien Brody? I'd love to see him as The Joker.
