Exactly what the title says. This is for discussing BvS for fans and anyone else who loved the film, as the negativity in the other threads is getting a bit exaggerated, and it's hard to carry a convo with fans of the film without being bombarded by negative comments in between posts.

Discuss Away!

I'll start. I really liked the knightmare scene. It was really reminiscent of the Injustice story arc of what could happen should anything happen to Lois (or Martha). I also liked that it was vague in who "she" was, since he never specifically said it was Lois or Martha that was taken from him.

I didn't like the movie as a whole, but there are things to be positive about.

The cast gave great performances across the board (even if I disagreed with some creative decisions about the way they played it). The performances and casting were really top of the game.

There were some great sequences. I loved a lot of Snyder's montages. I thought MOS finale from Bruce's perspective was everything I had hoped it would be.

The MoS finale recap from a different perspective was really good imo.

Also the opening sequence of the Wayne deaths, intercutting with Bruce running into the woods was beautifully done, especially with the music and Bruce's narration. Although I thought the Bruce floating thing was a bit much.

I loved the whole thing. Second time I liked it even more. Going again tonight.

Favorite part was "save Martha". You could see the shame on Bruce's face when he realized he was about to take a son away from his mother. Affleck was ace there. The Flash cameo was weird in a good way, but random asf. Perry and Alfred were cool. Martha's "I figured" line was great and consistent. It reminded of "nice suit, son". She's plays off the danger with nonchalance. Superman getting that quick solar recharge was cool. Hope he uses it offensively somewhere down the line. The dialogue was greatly improved from Man of Steel. They took that criticism to heart it seems.

Only problem I have with this are the abrupt cuts between scenes (which I suspect will be remedied in the UE) and I would have made character motivations clearer. I would have made Lex more Donald Trump and less Jim Carey. I think Snyder wanted to cast Eisenberg as the Riddler, but Jessie really wanted Lex and Snyder caved.

Although the film had this weird feeling the content was superb, there was so much to love in this film. It really felt like a comic book.

That's great to hear I'm seeing it again tomorrow and I'm hoping I can get past the weird vibes this time out. Not that weird is a bad feeling mind.

The start of the film with Bruce in Metropolis was well done. Some shots with Superman were Visually stunning. When he caught Lois after Lex pushes her off the helipad. When the senate blew up and was standing mid the explosion. And when he was floating in space.

Loved detective Batman.
Loved that Clark figured out who Batman was instantly.
Loved that Lex was way ahead of both of them.
Loved the Doomsday warning from the scout ship.

do you think he knew instantly from the party scene?

Great idea for a thread! I enjoyed the film a lot and I'm tired of all that hate and bashing this film gets.

There's really a lot of things I liked.

As I've said before, I just think a lot of scenes there were actually really iconic, both visually and meaning-wise.
Superman descending before the senate. The woman rising her hand towards Superman floating in the air with Sun in his back. All the people touching Superman after he saves the girl. Fantastic moments!

And I have to say, I really like Superman being conflicted. Not saying he should not have some brighter moments or anything, but I love how he searches for answers to how he should act in this world! IT IS GREAT! :ilv: And I loved this search is presented through action and non-action scenes.

I loved Superman hearing what Alfred calls to the Bruce, acting like nothing's happening while knowing everything. :woot:

I loved the scariness of Batman. The first scene with him, when he's under the ceiling, he was scary as hell!!! And his ferocity when he fights, man, his fights were truly awesome!
I loved how he was portrayed while fighting Doomsday. He used all his usual tactics, like grapple gun, just to save his life and get to more safe place, to appear later out of the dark with kryptonite shell in his gun! Loved that!
I liked that Batman was craftsman, detective, crime-fighter, all those stuff from the comics.

And I really liked that Snyder was not shy and showed that creepy post-nuke Superman. It was really shocking to see Superman like that in contrast with so handsome Cavill!

I liked those moments, where Bats started to feel, he got Superman, that he now fights equal, he can now beat him, and those moments when Supes started taking his power back. :woot: I really liked how the fight was constructed. And how was Bruce enjoying breaking columns with Superman on the rope!

I loved that Doomsday was really what he's supposed to be. Something deadly even to Superman. Not just enemy to bash, he really was a weapon to destroy Superman, even story-wise.

Bruce and Diana had such a great chemistry! And Wonder Woman was splendid, Gal did not disappoint.

And Lois and Supes too. The moment he flies to battle Batman and things he says, really emotional...

Lex as a character and Jesse as Lex, just phenomenal! Maybe the best villain after Heaths' Joker...

The skyscraper scene with Lex, Lois and Superman was fabulous!

The senate scene, of course!

I liked the dialogues in this film a lot too. Meaningful, interesting, revealing inner life of the characters.

Actors were excellent (despite the Batfleck, Jesse as Lex and Gal as WW scepticism, they were all fantastic), even the support. Fishburne, Lane, Hunter, Irons, etc...

I can't wait to see the rest of JL in action. Scene with Flash buying milk was so hilarious.

Despite the criticism I thought the script was fantastic. To me, it felt like a comics, with good pacing and it felt like it connects all the things together nicely. I really did not have problems understanding continuity or anything.

I liked that Knightmare stuff is something vague, something to be explored in future films.

Visually and design-wise, just sensational.

And the soundtrack, man, that Wonder Woman theme! To be honest, I was so pleasantly shocked by what they did with it. I was expecting something totally different, but what Hans and Tom have done, although very unconventional, worked amazingly well! I love that theme!
Batman theme is brooding and Superman's theme from Man of Steel is pure gold. Lex's theme was sooo good too, mad and crazy yet presice.

Well, as you can see, I really loved the film. I don't understand majority of the criticism. I went to see it without reading any of reviews and I enjoyed it a huge deal!

I can agree with this. It really does feel like a comic book.

Loved:
Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
The Batman vs Superman fight scene
Batman vs thugs
Batman's first appearance in the film
Opening scene of the death of Bruce's father and mother, it was done so well, IMO.
I liked how they did the death of Superman.

I'm excited for JL. :woot:

Yeah we have a home thread!!!

Strangely besides cavill performance, i think jesse did a fantastic job when i viewed it the 2nd time. And i find ben a bit underwhelming... 1 type of expression. The smirk to clark n wonderwoman r the same...
i think mostly the storyline is great.
ya. Love clois... the best clois ever.

I hope I change my mind on Eisenberg on my second watch tomorrow

do you think he knew instantly from the party scene?

Perhaps, perhaps not. Supes saying Martha - someone at CBR theorized that he figured out Bruce's identity earlier and did research on him (though Bruce didn't manage to do the same for Clark) - so essentially, Clark was using it to get through Bruce's rage.

I do hope they don't remove Snyder. They need to get a better editor for sure (and the film will be lighter - as Terrio mentioned it will be).

It all comes down to the BO now.

Look at his little bizzare facial expression... its creepy... and he thought faster than what he speaks. Simply brilliant

Nervous. Hope it will do great. Synder n all deserve it.

I haven't really talked much about Batman, I loved Ben's take. I really didn't give a **** about his disregard with basically killing criminals. I felt like this was a Batman at war and he was killing enemy soldiers. He was downright scary at times, the first time we seem him was like something from a horror movie.

I wonder if something was cut, there was the scene of him looking at newspaper clippings.

Oh, sweet irony.

I'll say this because I was caught off guard by it: the humor in this movie really clicked with me. The jokes were few and far between but for the most part they had me and my audience chuckling.

Loved this movie. I can agree with some of the editing and pacing, but overall it was fantastic.

Some saw it as a weird plot hole (why not say "mom") but I really loved the "Save Martha" moment that ends the fight.

That's the first time I've seen anyone use the Martha Kent/Wayne thing as a story point and also finally brings in the whole mother aspect rather than repeating the "superheroes have daddy issues" thing.

People rolling their eyes at a positivity thread may I just say, negativity is a different animal. It can really bring a person down and I think sometimes people need a break from it. This thread is that.
