The BATSUIT Thread

Rob doesn't need to look like Cavill or Affleck to pull off a form fitting bodysuit. I'm actually hoping for a physique much closer to Boseman in Black Panther or Ryan Reynolds, I want a slim Batman. That suits Pattinson's natural build the best.

Instead of bulking up, he can work on toning his muscle definition. Regime that targets the upper body so he can get those broad shoulders

Bale on Batman Begins physique with more definition. That's the type of physique he'd need to pull off the fom fitting suit. Batman needs to look imposing and intimidating.

Reynolds and Chadwick are fine but I do think Pattinson needs to go slightly more ambitious to completely lose himself into the character. Reynolds and Chadwick look too.. meh, not really getting a "I trained since I was a teen to be a one man army against crime" vibes.

What I like about his Good Time and The Rover performances is how unrecognizable he was, I want him to be almost as unrecognizable for Batman. Physique and how his physical presence changes will be a big part of that; his physical presence needs to change drastically. Not Cavill levels, but Bale/Gyllenhaal on Southpaw levels.

With the budget for The Batman and they should hire whoever made that Kingdom Come suit.

I'm not too big on that type of material for Batman. It looks fantastic on Superman, but it looks too...clean. It looks too perfectly made, if that makes sense? Like some alien machine created it. That fits very well for Superman, but not so much Batman. I'd rather the batsuit look like it's been...assembled. Something that's slowly been improved upon overtime and still is being improved, to this day. Rather than looking like perfection from day one. A good example is this manip that's been posted here a few times. Something like this looks like Bruce has improved on a foundation design over a lot of time and it'd be a good way of setting the batsuit apart from something more clean looking like Superman's suitjarold-sng-jsd-batman-2021-02.jpg

I'm just wanting them to get away from militaristic take on the Batsuit. It's played out imo

The best description I can give for what I want is militaristic spandex. Arkham Asylum's suit had the perfect materials, in my opinion. It looked like something that was assembled and put together, but still in a very refined way to the point of it looking great and it still looked like how it does in the comics. In my opinion, the best batsuits have that type of element to them

I don't necessarily mean assembled as in jerry rigged or badly made. I'd rather it did look seamless and good, for the reasoning you just gave. But I still wanna see it have an almost...built quality to it. The perfect example of what I mean is, once again, the Arkham batsuit. It looks smooth and seamless, but it still looks like it was handmade and assembled by Bruce himself. That type of quality, I feel, would really make the batsuit look really unique.

It has arrived...the perfect suit...IT HAS ARRIVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I'm really not a big fan of the CW stuff, and I think most of their costumes are aggressively mediocre, but that costume is actually literally perfect. I'm almost taken aback by how aggressively they nailed it. Leaps and bounds the best suit they've made to date, and for my money it stands toe-to-toe with Reeve's and Cavill's (the MoS one, that is). It couldn't scream "Superman" more if it tried.

Routh had the misfortune of being cast a few years too early and by a director with no vision of his own. I've always felt bad for the guy. Happy to see him get another crack at it, and now I kinda need a Brandon Routh Superman show.

It's almost as though the costume designer is shouting across time to the people who did the Returns suit - "This is how you ****ing do it!"

Even his hair is better - although I wish the curl was reversed and a tad more pronounced.

I'd love to see this manipped up with the Returns emblem (at that large size) and belt just for kicks, as well as with the standard emblem and yellow/gold belt.

But yeah, unless they seriously screwed up the boots, this is instantly the best live action superman costume ever for me.

Anddd they did, imo... Even the trunks don't look as good here, the colors are a bit inconsistent with everything else. Still looks very good from the waist up though.

To be fair, there's not going to be many shots from the waist down.

The inner side of the cape is of darker shade, they have kept that aspect of SR suit and the clunky boots. :o

The fantastic new Routh suit shows how beauty lies in simplicity.

Whatever direction Reeves takes the batsuit in, I just hope it's not over-designed. That's the biggest sin, imo.
