The BATSUIT Thread

For some reason this "recolored" version has me warming up a bit better to the suit.

But I have to say the nose is worrying me. Looks like they've gone for this weird three-sided shape. It's squared and flat at the front, but it retains the pointy profile.

Head-on, that is potentially going to look really strange. Adam West is the only popular iteration I know of who had this sort of styling on the cowl. And it didn't look appealing there at all.

I'm praying for the long ears to accentuate the aggressive features a bit more.

If you haven’t noticed, Robert Pattinson has a weird nose.

It is literally the reason, in my opinion besides his weird hair, why he simultaneously looks handsome, yet really ugly at the same time.

A nose can make or break a face. Especially in three dimension or two dimensional pictures. No biggie.

All of the previous Batman cowls, maybe with the exception of the Ben Affleck ones, had a sharp triangle nose.

I think the nose can work depending on how the ears balance it. It could add to the uncanny valley nature of it, because it looks so close to a human face but it isn't.

I dunno if its the nose, his nose just looks like a guy who's been in a fight before (which is appropriate for a Batman)
but there is something off... I think it's his wide-set eyes, which could potentially throw the mask off

Pattinson has the kind of face in which I could see why a lot of girls would find him to be the most handsome man alive, and others would think he's ugly.
And it looks very interesting on-screen.

I’m saying the flat squared nose looks hideous from the front, so I’m worried Pattinson is only going to look flattering from angles.

Nearly every manip we’ve had of him under the traditional, pointy triangular nose looked fantastic. It’s why I was so eagerly anticipating the final look.

It’s clear Reeves really wanted to take from the Adam West cowl. I can’t see why, it’s one of the ugliest.

That colored video is dope.

He looks good in the first picture which still gives dimensional proportions to his nose, so, no use crying over spilled milk and such a minuscule portion of the overall look ...

Some of you fanboys get bent out of shape or triggered over like the most minute, unnecessary of details LOL

I just want a suit in totality to be really good looking, and unique, and interesting. Fits a specific vision. While keeping the core essence of what a Batman should look like.

Some of the things fanboys moan over is utterly hilarious. It’s almost as if they have aspergers in regards to how something should look. Rain Man type stuff.

There was literally a poster on here who said that the suit didn’t even look or feel like Batman LOL

Reason is simple. The better color the better it looks. A static colored suit, all black doesn't pop.

well, in fairness, how often does the camera linger on someone from straight on in movies? It's not a flattering angle for most people, and it's not very cinematic either, so you don't see it alot

Maybe the ears will look like this.

Great post.

I've been going on about this and a lot of other people too but I really feel it was a mistake to not show the ears. It's leaving a lot of room open for ridicule since people can fill in the blanks in their imagination or terrible photoshops as they see fit.

Not really. It has people talking and they basically get to double-dip by having another reveal.

You seem more pressed about people not liking the same thing you do. Nitpicking is part of fandom, this ain’t new.

All of us have our grievances and praises for different aspects. No use for a discussion forum if all everyone is going to do is echo the same regurgitated expressions.

This. Not everything that's been done before is good, nor should it be brought back.

A quick colorization pass...

Hard to judge without seeing the ears. Not sure about the stitching on the mask, but like others said, maybe it's part of the story and he gets it upgraded later in the film.
I love the general armoured look. Like many, not so keen on the cowl - seeing it here it makes me think of Gotham by Gaslight!

I didn’t say all that. I’ve said before in here that personal preference is whatever’s clever.

I just think it’s hilarious how people get bent out of shape out of literally small inconsequential details LOL I don’t even think that’s nitpicking. I think it’s much weirder.

Like bruh ... you’re complaining about the shape of the nose guard on a mask. That doesn’t give you pause?!

You haven't even seen how THIS ONE looks from the front.
