Lol it's his first suit I'm pretty sure Bats and Catwoman suits will get better over time. I can't wait to see him make some touches/Improvements on it through out the movies. It will be kinda corny having him in a perfect suit just to change it in the next movie. I love to see the characters grow through out the movies with suit upgrades expression their growth. Kinda like Iron-Man,Cap,MCU Spidey, Aquaman,Falcon,Bucky,Black Widow etc. I think people will like the early suit more once they see it in action

You have to remember that a lot of ppl don’t care about storytelling and character development or logic within a story as much as they claim to. When it comes to a new superhero movie I always notice one thing: they will gladly throw a lot of that under the bus in order for the visuals to meet their “comic book expectations”. That’s the priority to them. If it doesn’t make sense for the story they’re telling, so be it...they got the suit and cowl they’ve always been looking for. I want things to look good too, but I’m flexible, and story/character should always come first. The visuals come second when crafting something like this. Snyder obviously had images in his mind and got it down before he dove into his characters for BvS and Justice League and it clearly shows.

It's funny how Affleck is in profile... since his mask looked so goofy from the front.

I don't think you can really expect anybody to make a huge physical change in just 2 months

You can, it's about being lean to look cut or get mass to look bigger.

Pattison looks vintage almost.

I’ve never been a fan of Arkham’s design on Batman. I’m talking about his body size and figure. It’s like a stuffed G.I. Joe with proportions completely off and I never can buy that a man of that size and stature can leap around and be aerobatic, like he’s seen in the games.

I’m curious to see what this Batman’s approach is to fighting or combat scenarios.

Yes but you could translate it to real life with more realistic body proportions. And if it was actually made out of fabric instead of sculpted rubber like that cosplay suit, it would look great. That suit looks like a giant rubber figure, not an actual piece of clothing.

But then the Affleck suits were more or less that. If they had had subtler muscle pads and the fabric wasn't glued into every muscle crevice, they would have looked even better.

Most, if not all, superhero suits from the films look goofy and dorky in plain real life lighting conditions. But movie magic takes away that ridiculousness.

Like it or dislike it as much as you desire, I think creative teams deserve the right to make their own aesthetic choices.

Because they be getting paid? You don't hire a costume designer just to reproduce a version of the comics. Even cosplayers can do that.

They're artist who were hired to create. Why would they make something that someone else already did? There's general guidelines that they can't work outside of, but they should have enough wiggle room to make an interpretation that is fresh and true to spirit of the character. The same way the Arkham designers did, or snyder, or burton or whoever.

I know we're kind of rehashing the same ideas but what would have been really cool is concealed armor. They were going for a more "tactical" Batman, but the armor plates could be inside the suit rather than outside. Like Bruce says in Earth One: "Do you know what body armor says about a guy? It says he needs body armor." It makes more sense if he hid it in his suit. It makes him seem more supernatural, imo. I know they're getting paid and I'm not, but I would have leaned more into the Cap Winter Soldier style "ballistic cloth" suit with armor plates and padding underneath, rather than have it all out there for everyone to see. Just my two cents. Still think the suit is pretty cool though.

become a costume designer, gain experience, form a relationship with the future Batman director, get the job, and no, it won't be, IF it aligns with said director's vision. You just want what you like. You aren't really taking context into consideration.
