The BATSUIT Thread

I really like Norm Breyfogle's version of the cowl from these sketches. Tall set-back ears, large brow, pointed nose.

For some reason, I'm thinking we're going to get a low-tech suit. At least for the first movie. Maybe slightly more modern that Gotham by Gaslight. Maybe I just have that stuck in my head, because that reminds me of Sherlock Holmes and so much emphasis has been put on the detective aspect.

I’ve been thinking the same. I think the aesthetic, overall, will be a little less stylized at first glance than some fans might be hoping for.

Where the suit is concerned, I’m picturing something minimalist. Simple, but still relatively comic book accurate. I wouldn’t be surprised if Reeves makes it a point to show the cape draped over him at multiple points. I’m also (for no real reason) expecting to see a return to an all black color scheme.

I didn't like the set-back ears on the Nolan cowls. That might have had more to do with the shape of the ears themselves though.

Now that's a discussion, what direction for the ears are you guys' preferences? Straight-up? Curved-in? Curved-out?

Back in the day, lujho used to post a manip where the ears were shaped more like the Animated Series cowl, which was interesting.

Otherwise, I prefer the ears pointed straight up and positioned at the side of the head. I don't like the cowl shape when the ears are positioned towards the back of the head.

The suit from Batman White Knight is pretty sleek

I might be able to go for that Bat emblem, but otherwise, I'm not so sure I'd feel that in live action.

This almost looks intimidating IMO. With the right lighting and the right atmosphere, even this suit can look great

Just please, make sure and sculpt it so it looks good from all angles. Ben’s only looked good looking down from an angle. Upfront it was flat, boring, and chubby.

Keaton’s ears (Adam’s-esque) x Bale’s brow...

w/ Cox’s Daredevil mouth/tendency to half hard/soft material x Deadpool’s eyes.

It shouldn’t be this hard to create the BTAS mask in live action these days after Deadpool and Homecoming.

I hope it's less Nolan and more Burton in style - i too want an old school vibe - i would like to think Bruce, whilst out in the shadows, shadows are his allies.. the cowl can give him precious seconds to escape, elude.. theatrics are key. Bermejo's cowl (not as shiny tho) and cape are great, look really organic in the wind.

I actually hope it is a mix of Batfleck and Nolan
