The BATSUIT Thread

Rose’s acting is just...wow. Dead eyes and dead expression.

I hope to hell they stay away from the armored suit for this movie. Keep it similar to the comics/Snyder version. More cloth based.

I'd love to see something like the Year 100 suit, especially since the movie will be early in his career. It's a great "starter suit" to be improved upon as the character grows throughout the franchise.4f27fc947398730573aadd3f32d651ba.jpg

I literally want them to take Affleck's suit & use that as a starting point, then work backwards if this is to be Batman earlier in his career.

Add things to the suit that you can easily explain why he got rid of/improved.

A leaner, clothier version of the Batfleck suit is perfect for me. I want them to continue the Black/Grey motif, but maybe make it look more pulpy, something a costumed vigilante would wear.

Unpopular opinion maybe but I wouldn't mind a lightly armored batsuit. Something like the one in the Telltale games.

The Broken City suit was a perfect realistic adaption of the suit... Kevlar sheath, over armored/pads body suit (like hockey [pads] equipment).

I just don't know what to expect with Reeves. Are we getting a more gritty and realistic aesthetic like Nolan's, or something a bit more heightened and fantasy-based like the comics?

Looking at his movies, i feel always it has horror qualities, with operatic moment
his actors have often animalistic qualities imo. The guy likes a lot Long Halloween, the Kane and Finger era, and Neal Adams version, so i'm pretty sure that we will have a more "Bat" costume, less obviously high tech ( can be hightech, without being showy) or Mitilaristic

Hopefully the latter.

Honestly, use batfleck costume. Slim it down. Make cape go over shoulders. Have white lenses for detective mode.

Almost like telltale.

I would be down for that. Minus the fat Bat symbol on his chest. Never liked that glob in Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.

I wouldn't want to impose one filmmaker's aesthetic onto another.

The Batfleck suit was a Snyder/Wilkinson creation. Let Reeves and his costume designer make their own thing.

Agree 100%, not a fan of the Bat symbol on the BvS/JL suits at all, just looks like a big blob..

I would be a little more welcoming of the logo though if they gave a reason for it, say they went with the same/similar design make some reference in film that it doubles as some sort of extra stabbing/bullet protection for the chest area of the suit.. which ironically is something they referenced in the Arkham Knight games if you've ever played those, the AK mentions something along the lines of most people think the logo is the weakest point of the suit but it's actually the strongest.

I'm fine with letting them do their own thing, but use Affleck's BvS suit as a general template. It's the 1st meaningful step away from Burton's all black rubber look which carried on through every film right up until TDK.

The design would really need to be on point and/or need to have an extremely good jawline to pull off a cowl with a jaw so exposed. Look at the difference from Flash's new cowl on the TV show & Flash's in Justice League, something about Gustin's cowl looks off compared to Miller's.

I want them to keep the same general color scheme as the comics. Grey body, black cowl, gauntlets, batsymbol, boots, etc. Change the Batsymbol. Long ears. White lenses.

A Long Halloween inspired suit.

Shorten the ears to medium length.

Keep the pouches on the utility belt but change to color to match the rest of the suit.

Keep the color scheme. It looks good and blends into the shadows well.

Use the CGI technology we have now that they use for Deadpool and have the white lenses on his cowl as much as possible. Bruce Wayne is the most famous and recognizable man in Gotham and Batman's image is tailor made by Bruce to have every criminal in Gotham fear him. So why would he ever want anyone to get a good look at his eyes while wearing the Bat suit? It takes away from the mystique and undermines what Batman is trying to accomplish.

Don't over militarize or armor up Batman too much.

Long flowing cape.

The suit should be tailor made to allow Batman to be this dark mysterious figure that can slip in and out of the shadows at will, and not just a guy in a halloween costume.

Yeah... if we don’t finally get proper cowl lenses, after Deadpool and MCU Spider-Man. Someone has failed.
