The BATSUIT Thread

Yeah, blue could look awesome. It would also feel fresh after all the black suits.

The first picture is a better example of what I'm talking about with the bluish color grading. Good choice.

Eh. I'd argue even Jim Lee's suit looks better in black, which is why when it was adapted for the Batman Arkham Asylum videogame they just made it black and yeah, it looks better.

I feel like it's only a minority of people that prefer Batman in blue, after all, his whole shtick is being a dark scary hero.

Man, given how awesome Cap's suits have looked (especially the one in Endgame... holy crap was it glorious) I don't EVER want to hear that Batman's blue and gray suit couldn't work in live action again. It absolutely could.

The one in Endgame truly was glorious. I tried to find a good picture of it, but no luck.

Yeah. I loved that they incorporated the scale mail and it looked fantastic. I never thought that would be something that would be included in his movie costume.

Yeah, I've always thought that Cap's suit in the comics looked pretty ridiculous, but they managed to make him look like a complete badass in the movies. Now I feel confident that they can pull off Wolverine's classic costume. And, yes, Batman's blue and gray. :D

Argument for a blue and gray Batman costume: It can work, sure.

Argument foe a black and gray costume: Even if the blue one works, the black one will still look better and fit the character and his darkness better.

Captain America is a boyscout so it obviously fits with him, but Batman is an extremely dark character in an extremely dark world so... black is better.

Well, at least we're now admitting that black and gray can work. For the longest time during TDKT, people were adamant that the all armor, all tactical, all grounded was the only way Batman could look in live action.

At least that's progress.

Entirely subjective on your part and therefore not a valid argument.

See above.

I feel thar the batsuits could take a page from the Captain America suits... not in terms of color, but texture and materials.

It looks practical, it allows the actors to move, doesn't look like it'd take 5 hours to put it on an so on. It's great. In fact they should hire the same woman that designed it.

I prefer black for Batman but blue could definitely work and I wouldn’t mind seeing it.
The winter soldier cap suit is a great example of how badass it could look.

It looks badass but boyscout. I don't want Batman to look like a boyscout.

Ok I've changed my mind, Blue can work.

I have the non-grounded notion that grey and black is more realistic. And I have no real fundamentals to prefer that to be realistic, since Batman Isn't.

And a well crafted blue suit in a well developed setting could work.

Something about the right shade of blue with the right shade of gray just looks very aesthetically pleasing to me. It has a better sense of flow, if that makes sense. Very complimentary.

I think it is likely that we either get black/gray or all black (just a feeling), but I'd lose my **** if Reeves went balls to the wall and gave us blue/gray, the oval, and lenses.

Imagine commenting on the weather with, “pleasant boyscout skies out right now”

Imagine complimenting someone, “you have remarkably boyscout eyes”

Imagine retelling a fight and saying, “you should have seen the other guy, all black and boyscout”

Imagine asking a sickly person, “why so boyscout in the face?”

Imagine planning a trip and searching for “boyscout water scenery”

Imagine going into Spotify and playing classic tracks from their “boyscout jazz” genre section

—but we can’t. We can only imagine what it’s like in Invader Joker’s bizarro world.

Something like this, but with a shade of blue closer to the Captain America costumes:

I'd also go with a more metallic white-gold color for the oval/belt instead of the goldenrod.

It's just... ugh. Maybe if you were doing a more action driven Batman film blue would work really well but for a noir I prefer the cowl to be black. If he's going to be a noir hero, he might as well have a black cowl.
