The BATSUIT Thread

After what feels like 13 Batman interpretations, I think just to make this one distinct they should go with the Grey/dark blue ala Gary Frank's Earth One.

Just make the gloves black and they're set.

But the purple really complements the yellow belt and dark blue cape and cowl :funny:

It’s so interesting how a lot of people have come around to the idea of a suit inspired by this design. It just goes to show that we’ve gotten so many interpretations over the years, and we want something different.

I guess I've already got the classic Batman look with the Batfleck suits. The only thing that they don't have is the longer ears, the oval symbol, and a leaner physique. Hence I want to see something new. But I'd be more than fine if they continue on that route too.

Oh yes that's my favorite suit to go with the oval symbol :hmr:

I hope there’s the background element of yellow in the insignia and also that its dark grey

No more heavy bulky or even overly technical mechanized/militaristic look. Just straight up close comic adaptation would be fantastic

I hear Reeves is taking this in a very hard noir and detective route in this which means Batman will probably lose several fights or get beaten up a lot similar to many noir heroes. Certainly an interesting direction if this is the case

It makes sense though. Those capes are heavy and hinder choreography. Why weigh an actor or stuntman down with it? Not to say they shouldn't have it for walking around in for the non action scenes.

Lenghen the ears, add an oval , fix the cape/cowl attachment, maybe change the black into a really dark midnight blue and you're set.

If they toned down the padding in the suit in the movie and it looked exactly like this, it would have been absolutely perfect.

I like the idea of seeing Batman struggle and even take a beating. I just want to be sold a context that works. Either a convincing opponent/s or just a gauntlet where he's going through like an Oldboy hallway situation. What I don't want is to sacrifice too many elements of what makes Batman cool in favor of any one.

No thanks to the blue costume. Bats aren't blue. They're black or gray or brown. They're not blue.

Then again, wolverines aren't blue and yellow. But still

Obviously we all have our own opinions... but personally I genuinely think that's the single most boring option they could go with. I've seen all sorts of different fan-made Batsuits that are comic accurate and fabric based online and frankly, I've never really liked the look of them. They don't look genuinely 'cinematic' to me, no matter how well you light the scene or anything.

It always looks like a six foot plus man in tights to me. IMO the padding, the armor or more mechanized details we see in the films and modern video games- comic inaccurate as they might be- typically give the suits more detail and texture to them to where Batman looks more uncanny and frightening.

Personally speaking, I just think the 'fabric based comic adaptation Batsuits' only work in comics and animation. They're different forms of visual media.

Some wants:

- A cowl that can be pulled back like a hood.
- A cape that full envelopes the body.
- Retractable lenses.
- A cowl that doesn't look like it's suffocating Pattinson's face. Dude has THE best jaw of any Batman actor. Use it.

It sure is nice to dream, I agree!

All of these should be realistic goals though and I'd be bummed if we don't get these.

I hope the costume designer finds a way to avoid the raccoon eyes for a change.
