The BATSUIT Thread

I get you're being ironic but even then this is a terrible joke taking into account the fact that the point of that story (which is even reflected in that image you shared) is Batman wearing different costumes every night.
:lmao:

No, Invader, the Batsuit is pink. I'm being super duper ultra serious about it.

Invader, I have a suspicion that if the suit was blue and gray and Pattinson had a lithe physique, you'd still be on board. Call it a hunch.

Just keep an open mind, my guy.
I can be excited for the movie and still think the suit is terrible. I love TDK and I think the batsuit there is an abomination.

I just think that the blue doesn't make sense for the "creature of the night" aspect of Batman.

And I get that argument that "Oh but he's never looked like a creature of the night" or whatever, but still, for obvious reasons the black puts more focus on the "dark" aspect of the character than the blue.
Blue is associated with “darkness” and “night” just as much as black.

There’s literally a famous color which highlights this.

Not in character designs.

Blue just feels way too tactical for my liking. I don't mind the batsuit being tactical, but even then I feel it needs to emphasize the creature of the night aspect in some way.

The ears and the way he uses his cape does that more than the color of the suit

... And the color blue, the color, could prove as abominable to you as that Transformers-looking atrocity?

You do you, I guess.

For as horrible as the TDK suit was, it'd have looked a 100 times worse with blue.

And if rumors are true, the ears are small so that's thrown out of the window as well.

Yeah, same. You can barely even tell it’s blue, so I don’t know what he’s talking about.

And blue is too tactical? That’s hilarious.

I don't even know how to exactly describe my reasoning, but it's just kinda.. I don't like the idea of Batman, this dark brooding hero, having the same suit color in his cowl and cape as boyscout Captain America and Superman. When I think of superheroes with a blue suit, I think of Cap and Superman and they're pretty much the opposite of what Batman is in some ways. There's some color theory there going on that I can't explain.

I just associate the blue far too much with the idea of a "boyscout superhero" nowadays and if this film is going to dive deep into the more complex aspects of the character, him looking like a modernized West is just not my cup of tea. There's something about the whole concept of a black and grey Batman, with medium sized ears, with an imposing physique brooding that just sells the "troubled soul with a lot of darkness in his being" idea better than the grey and blue and skinny.

It can work, it can absolutely work because I've seen it work in some recent fanart but I feel you need someone imposing to sell it off and maybe Pattinson will get there but if they're reaaaally going to start this January then I can't really see that going over too well; maybe I'm wrong and I'll be the tiny minority that dislikes it or maybe I'll like it and I'll have to change my opinion, but based on the comments I've seen outside of these forums and the people that have been following this movie hardcore I don't think it will. People that don't have any connection whatsoever with the 70s Batman comics aren't too fond of the blue, they seem to associate Batman more with black.

Blue doesn't have to mean boyscout or that there is no creature of the night aspect to it, though.

For whatever reason, it does feel different to me. I just associate Batman with black and grey more than I do the blue and grey. Whenever I see a blue and grey cosplay something feels off; I don't think many people look at a black and grey cosplay and have that same reaction.

Cosplay costumes are considerably low-budget and often filmed uncinematically in broad daylight.
