The BATSUIT Thread

I'm wondering if I want the suit to be Blue, so Invader will lose his s**t, or hoping it's black, so he'll shut up about the damn color.

Imagine if Matt releases the first picture of the batsuit and it's in black and white so we have no idea as to what color it is until the trailer.

That's exactly the reason I don't want it to be blue. I don't think Batman's cowl should be the same color as boyscout Captain America's suit.

Taskmaster (world-class assassin and Grade A badass):

Taskmaster isn't really helping your case because that looks horrible and the Deathstroke suit doesn't really have blue it seems, it's mostly just tiny bits and pieces that have blue light on top of it from the environment.

... Deathstroke is predominantly blue and orange.
The majority of that suit looks black and orange, it just has some parts that are reflecting the blue light from the rest of the environment.

Invader, the hard armor pieces are blue and orange. Google more pictures if you're unconvinced. For good measure, check out other depictions of Taskmaster and Deathstroke, live-action or not, for more reference points. Hell, look up Deathstroke in Titans if you want something more recent.

You are continuously citing blue as a "boy scout" color. I just gave you two examples of characters who are decidedly not boy scouts. Cobra Commander isn't a boy scout. Sub Zero isn't a boy scout. There's two more. You're trying to force a correlation that simply doesn't exist.

I still think Batman looks more badass in black. The blue doesn't feel right to me unless it's like Hush and he's already super imposing.

Not gonna lie, the only thing getting me hyped about this suit right now is that it might actually be Grey and Blue. Hopefully with the Oval too.

It's genuinely exciting. It's new, it's unexpected, and it's something that for years people have said could not work.

I don't trust these scoopers, but this is one rumor I hope they luck into being right with.

I won't believe anything that is said until we actually see a picture of the actual movie suit.
I remember when Batman Begins was in pre-production. In addition to being told that it would be in the style of the 1970s Batman (where Batman is a more serious hero, but the world is still bright and colorful, the batmobile is a convertible, Batman has a presence in the media, etc), we were told that the suit was going to be spandex modeled after the animated series, with a thin fabric cowl that would feature prosthetics in the brow, so it would show Christian Bale's emotions.
And we all know how that turned out

God this looks horrible. Really hope that Adam West part isn't true.
That cowl looks awesome! Different from anything we've seen on film before. And midnight blue looks wonderful on it.

A blue that is a similar shade as Cap's TWS suit would be great

The whole point as to why Bruce became Batman is because he wanted to be intimidating. That cowl is not intimidating whatsoever. It has nothing mythic about it. He might as well just be wearing a blue balaclava at that point.

Have any of the cowls really been intimidating on their own?

Looks wise the Batfleck and Burton cowls did a fine job selling the idea. Nolan would have too if only Bale was able to breathe in that thing and didn't have hia mouth open on a lot of scenes.
