The BATSUIT Thread

I'd be a little surprised to see him switch to another costume. That said, perhaps, he'll see fit to make an upgrade or two so as to increase mobility and protection, or in response to any damage incurred.
I’m thinking that he’ll probably keep the same early costume here; upgrades should be for another film, and probably have a story.

Like, here’s another costume design I made, merging some of the Batman Forever looks with some Bermejo design and the mouth guard that Alex across had for Kingdom Come Batman.

This would not be a Batman suit for this movie.

This would be for a Batman around about the time Jason dies and Barbara got crippled, for a real “Dark Knight” look - make sure to scroll right if you want to see the mouth guard.

I actually don't mind that. It's an updated take on the West cowl and it's different from what we've seen before in a good way

Any of these would work well as inspirations for the new suit.

When it comes to lenses, everyone always makes a big deal about losing the “emotion” in the eyes, which, honestly, I think is wayyyy overblown.

If you give an actor white contact lenses, they’ll retain all the “expression” that eyes can offer, the narrowing and widening. That’s how we gave emotion from a person, because I don’t think any of us are going “you’re pupils just dilated! That tells me so much about you.”
Go with the white contact lenses, this gives us the comic look, makes him look freaky, and retains the capability to show emotion. Best of both worlds. Or hell, just cgi out the eyes in post, you don’t even have to go with practical lenses.

I think most of the time when people talk about losing expression they mean specifically built in lenses on the suit. Contact lenses would be the compromise

Speaking as someone who, until now, has decided not to wade into the whole eyes vs lenses debate, I will say this much:

I prefer seeing the eyes.

There. Now we can get back down to brass tacks.

Number five and number six only. Not a fan of the idea of a bright blue on Batman. In addition to that, the gray can’t be so light that it looks like white. The contrast is too much.

what is contacts thing? Like literal white contacts?

I’m really getting sold on lenses in the cowl that change opacity. I think it’s a pretty cool solution that sells as practical and hasn’t really been seen in a movie yet. That I can think of, anyway.

Durran gets the Oscar.
