It's the arkham suit with the 60s cowl. For someone that's meant to be stealthy he's going to sound like a clunky Cosplay bat iron man with a $20 cowl made from pleather from Joann fabrics lol I'm sorry I had hope, if they change the cowl completely and streamline the design I'll probably dig it. But it looks like a mix mash Cosplay. There's that dude that made the arkham suit for real and it looks so much better than this. Totally disappointed.

It feels like some people didn't expect "homecrafted" appearance. Sort of lack of 3D printed sculpted elements like on all previous incarnations of live action Batman. This is what really feels fresh for me about it.

Not trying to be confrontational but Bill Finger is not a Batman artist, hence why he wasn’t on my list. Making suggestions for the design of Batman hardly qualifies him as a Batman artist. He was an idea man and is responsible for 80% of what we love about Batman today, but he was a Batman writer not a Batman artist. I challenge you to find one picture of Batman that Bill Finger drew of Batman. You won’t find one, hence why he’s not one of the iconic Batman artists. However, he is the most influential writer in Batman’s history.

*1939 emblem in modern context

If the ears are short then it leans toward point 2. If long then it'll be great. Now its the belt that worries me since Batfleck was the only film iteration after Adam West to have pouches.

First impression... not a fan. We've been discussing aspects of the suit having a homemade feel. The suit is there now, albeit partially, and having that look now I say based on personal preferences it's slightly off. Do away with the collar. The jaw is too exposed (Patz has a godly jawline, but revealing too much is too much). The cowl would look better with no visible stitches.

Need to see it in full color and context (story and tone) for proper assessment.

And frankly if say, a Snyder suit had placed "the gun that killed the Waynes" as the chest symbol most of ya'll would have **** a brick saying it was "too dark" or "too Po'faced" or "too edge lord".


You would have, don't lie.


I have to wait and see on ALL of this because while I ADORED Reeves' two APE films and think he's a really good director almost everything I've heard about the film does nothing for me, one or two good casting choices aside.

Which is why barring Wonder Woman and Aquaman (though in light of certain events regarding its leading lady, I won't bother with a sequel), I'm not touching the other films (Suicide Squad and the bastardization of BOP included) with a barge poll. Not helped that he and the New 52 represent a rough time in DC's History

Everyone comes with baggage based on their work. We know Snyder's. We know Reeves'.

One invites a more interesting and introspective look at character, rather than surface value novelty and cool factor.

I don't think it's some targeted contradiction to spite one over the other.

I like it.

It's an interesting mix of different versions of the suit. As noted, there's some hints of the Bill Finger's work and the Adam West suit. Also the obvious hints of the more modern takes we've seen in the Arkham games. It's not too surprising that the suit calls back to all that stuff.

I really like the music and vibes it's giving off. A quiet darkness, fury, aggressiveness, etc. that I've assumed was how Reeves and Pattinson with their more detective approach to the character.

The red tone was giving me some Beware the Batman opening theme sequence vibes. Still feel that show was lowkey underrated.

Still wish we got the good ol' gray and blue, yellow oval, and trunks.

Dat skrong chin, tho.

My favorite part of the suit is the new (gun) Bat logo and the chest piece area. The suit looks sleek. I like how his shoulder plate moves with him. The segmental aspect of the suit will likely be much better realized than the TDK suit. The whole thing looks better without the red filter.

As for the cowl, I need to see more but the ears are likely going to make or break it for me. Not digging the total lack of expression in the brow of the cowl, or the sewed/stitched look with all the seams. Looks kind of cheap and flimsy and doesn't get with the sleeker suit. The visible nostrils are a big downgrade for me. i just don't think that looks great in live action. The cowl itself is very jarring and will be something I'll have to get used to.

And, I don't like the stand collar with cape and the wide mouth opening in the Cowl, makes it look Daredevil-ish, the other thing I don't like is the lining / piping along the nose part of the cowl, armored suit is fine I guess. Bat-emblem looks good.

I think the cowl looks ****ing great. Actually looks like a cowl that he can slip back like a hood.

I told you so! I'm surprised so many don't like the cowl. It and the cape attachment are my favourite parts. I'm just not a fan of the collar and all the detailing on the shoulder pads. Get rid of those features and I don't think I would have any issues.

I'll definitely wait for a full reveal, but right now:

Emblem is bad ass (regardless of the story behind it).
I can dig the armored look. Arkham Knight inspiration is obvious.
I'm not feeling the collar.
The mask is looking hideous. Plain, stitched leather? You've made an effort to design an armored look, but then wrap his head - what should be the most protected - in hobbled together leather that lacks any expression or actual design elements? Really not liking it so far.
