The BATSUIT Thread

The more I look at it the the harder it is for me to buy that it’s a gun.
I’m no gun expert but it doesn’t actually look like a gun :funny:
The pictures that I’ve seen of it edited onto a gun as the handle just.....don’t look right.
It has to be something else imo

I’m not dismissing the theory out of hand, but it’s really funny to me how quickly “the bat-emblem resembles a gun” became a definitive “Batman’s emblem is made from Joe Chill’s gun” in the online discourse.

Like, yeah yeah, Kevin Smith’s story in Detective 1000, sure. But I feel like there’s a big difference between melting down the gun and making something different out of it, and just cutting it up and putting the pieces on your chest.

I really feel like those are batarangs/blades of some sort.

IDK. The more I look at that thing, the more I see it as a gun split in half. You can see all the pieces of a gun.
I like the storytelling aspect a repurposed gun would have, though I also don’t see the symbol lining up clearly into a gun; the big pieces at the tops of the wings really look like like they don’t belong on a gun.

At the same time, I don’t see them being batarangs or blades; the size of the apparatus and the central location on his chest feels like it would look too aesthetically awkward to see him actually retrieve Batarangs from it. I mean, I’m a fan of Tim Drake, and I know that his R could be thrown... but I also think that the size of the R and it’s placement allowed thatto look much more natural.

Could it be some kind of harness system for his cape when it become a glider? A more utilitarian and hardware looking variation on the Nolan suits memory fabric?

Idk man, to me it's pretty obvious. Heck, when I showed the video to my sister and she saw the bat-symbol slowly being revealed she even asked "Are those guns?"

Obviously Bruce cut it up and sculpted it, but it just seems clear to me that it's a gun.

Of course it's blurry as F! Is it a real leak though or just another fan manip?

They actually kinda seem like some sort of bladed weapons/tools to me.

I’m convinced that these parts work together to fold the blades in for some purpose 8D1A3066-EC6F-459A-89E0-DB7CC540C63D.png

What is the obsession with changing the mouth opening?
Because it looks better for it.

I wouldn't be mad if this turned out to be real.

To everyone talking about the Batsymbol - since when has Batman been known for using knives? Enough to justify turning his defining insignia into them? Not to mention we have canon precedent for him using Joe Chill's gun to make his logo. Occam's razor guys.

What do you mean? The batarang is basically a throwing knife, and it has been used as a regular knife as well, such as cutting a rope or what have you.

Initial thoughts:

- Logo looks cool, much better than the fat logo from Affleck's suit

- I like the plate like system of the chest piece & shoulders, it has an Arkham Knight type vibe to it

- I'm not a big fan of the mask/cowl, it reminds me a lot of Adam West's cowl because of the stitching lines & the non-pointed nose

- The thing that will probably make or break the cowl for me is the ears

Overall, I'm on the fence still, need to see more of it.

Thinking it's a Batarang and thinking it's a pair of knives are two very different ideas

See to me doing a darker version of the West cowl is neat.

Maybe we're overthinking it and it's just the emblem that has practical meaning. Some form of grapple or batarangs....
