The BATSUIT Thread

Found this on twitter.

Reminds me of that awful New 52 DCAU cowl with the chin thing going on.

Batman explaining to Vicki Vale the Joker's method of poisoning products in Batman '89 is one of my favourite scenes in any of the movies for those exact reasons. It's hushed, curt and to the point. When she asks how he figured it all out, he simply waves a file at her and throws it onto the desk. Perfect.
Bingo somebody who actually gets it. It’s not limiting. That’s how the character is supposed to be. Dark, mysterious, curt and to the point. He’s not out here talking willy nilly and giving speeches. The less revealing about himself, more mysterious, thus more intimidating he is. And that’s his whole modus operandi

I feel like since Returns all of the cowl ears look good dead-on, but so/so in profile...

This is the first to pull of both in my eyes.
I don’t know bro ...

the Panther Kilmer suit looked good from all angles. The only thing negative about it was the damn bat nipples.

The Bale mask looked good from all angles, I love the way the back of the head swooped into the aggressive leaning forward ears.

The Ben Affleck one didn’t look phenomenal but that’s just because they’re the stupid short ears, which don’t give the most menacing of profiles or silhouettes.

Threw this together quickly so that everyone can take in a deep breath. Very likely how it will look in the movie, based on the official reveal video and the high resolution photos from today.

Ears look great in profile but they look terrible there. Might look better in silhouette or better lighting, so hopefully there's not many scenes set during the day.

They've really gotta put something official out already. The super dark close-up isn’t cutting it when we’ve got this stuff floating around. Show us what this thing looks like on the guy we’ll actually be seeing it on.

I think Glyn Dillon and Greig Fraser want it to be shown fully now. They both liked several tweets of people telling them they should release it and that these pics don't do it justice, but Matt hasn't tweeted anything.
He either:
A) Doesn't want to release it.
B) Has been too busy to tweet it.
C) Hasn't been given authorization to tweet it.
D) Doesn't have an image that he thinks is good enough right now and is waiting to get a better shot specifically designed to publish on Twitter once they film with Robert tomorrow in Glasgow.

When looking at WB's track record, they really have a terrible history when it comes to the first official shots of costumes.

-Batman Begins was dark and in a crouching position that made him "teh puffy" as they used to say.

-Superman Returns had an unflattering pose, setting and lighting.

-TDK one gets a pass as it was actually pretty badass with him standing on top of a police car. In fact that actually made it look better if anything.

-Man of Steel had him crouched in front of a safe like door. This got people debating endlessly on wether the dark area was hiding trunks or not.

-BvS had the "sad Batman" meme because of the posture and it was monochrome which had people debating the suit colour for the longest time.

-Shazam was through set photos where people were complaining about something...can't recall what.

-The Batman, well you know this one.

I think it's D.

A good handful of these aren’t so much on WB as they are on fandom for being utterly insufferable in every way. That first BB pic? Great. Shazam? Admittedly should’ve had an official release rather than set pics, but the suit still looked great and the fans still whined.
