    Happy Thanksgiving, Guest!

The BATSUIT Thread

Maybe that's one difference between the final cowl and this one, who knows? I'm not gonna rule it out. It would be a wonderful feature to have in this new cowl.

I've seen many manips That photoshop the white eyes on him and they all look amazing
There'd be zero point on Reeves releasing that camera test in such a closeup way if it wasn't exactly like the final product. He's gonna have his eyes showing and they're gonna look creepy.

Yup. It doesn't bother me, because it complete the DYH mode, but i can understand why it could bother some. Btw i dont believe that the Batman will have lenses, or it will be something extra à la Dark knight. The point is that we can see the suit more fully.

The cowl is made of leather and in the camera test you can literally see his eyelashes sticking out.

I really don't see any way in which you could incorporate lenses, or why you even should for that matter.

Easy way to incorporate lenses: White contacts. Retains expressiveness of eyes, and incorporates a comic element we’ve never seen in live action.

Why should you? It’s a new look, more accurate to the comics, and could make for a more frightening creature of the night aspect. There’s no real “reason” to do anything. There’s no reason to give him a comic accurate Batsuit at all. But it would be nice to see something that hasn’t been done in live action for the 30 years of Batman films we’ve had.

It's simple:

Contact lenses.

I don't get why every assumes it has to be Iron Man type lenses when we've gotten that in a standard cowl (The final scene with Joker vs. Batman in the Dark Knight) and it didn't look great, where as the Arkham Games and recently Batwoman took the contact lense approach (with the glowing eyes being representative of detective mode/night vision) and it looked great while maintaining the freedom to switch to the traditional normal eye look that adaptations use.

There's no way to make the drop down, Iron Man style lenses look good/natural unless he's in an armored TDKR suit like he was in BvS. With Iron Man style lenses you lose the expressiveness of the natural exposed eye. That's not the case with contacts. Contacts are the way to go.

Could always just make them techy contacts with some movie science bull****. Or just to help hide his identity further. I'm not particular either way, but they're pretty easy to justify should you feel the need.

The cowl could have tech in it that just creates the white lens holographically when he wants it.

People be complaining about baggy pants?

Eh, some do prefer batleggings tho, show those batcheeks in acute detail!

I haven't seen many comments about the pants but them being baggy is fine to me. Earth One is one of my top favorite suits and I would love to see a batsuit be a batman version of Captain America's from Winter Soldier

This looks a LOT better! I'm indifferent towards the Batmobile, though.

I'm the opposite. Indifferent about the suit but I love the batmobile. Better than anything except Burton's

It's a moot point. He's not gonna have contacts and he looks better without them. You can say "it can be done this way or that way" or "this is why it should be done" but in the official camera test Reeves made a point of doing a closeup of his face which when brightened up you can very very clearly see a menacing view of his eyes. I get why people wanted the white eyes, I wanted them before seeing the screen test but he's just not gonna have them.

What is with people's obsession not to see wrinkles, buckles and creases in material on superhero suits in live action films?

Is it just that the drawings in comics tend to look smooth and perfect? Those are drawings.

the gauntlets can be use as protection, weapons and tools. I've been in martial artist in years and seen the them in action in real life, you guys probably seen them in movies, games and shows etc. Here are examples from Sonny The Legend Chiba in The Street Fighter movies to Netflix Daredevil to Arkham Origins Ninja and vigilante Batman and Scott Adkins in the underrated Ninjas movies!

I love this, a lot, makes perfect sense, I feel, depending on how ninja we go, or get... I wouldn't at all be surprised if the first bat suit was the cowl he has now, and cape, over some kinda Nina uniform. Releasing he needed way more protection so is adding and refining as he goes along.

Any y'all have been directed to this comparison? It makes so much sense! They are paying homage to Batman's training in the DNA of his suit even more than BB did.

Wouldn't be surprised if we got this or at least an homage if the samurai really was an inspiration here.

Love the samurai influence, but even this actual samurai's gauntlets look a thousand times better. Seriously, if they just came in black on the new suit, it would look tremendously better. Huge design misstep imo.

I wouldn't say a "thousand times better" or huge misstep but yeah black would have been best
