The BATSUIT Thread

One of the prominent leakers mentioned a new suit after a pivotal scene, while talking about the use of some locations, filming, and iirc the batmobile. So whether that individual has been pretty lucky with their fake leaks/guesses or are leaking actual info, that's something to keep in mind. I guess time will tell.
I’ll be very surprised if he updates the suit in this movie. A sequel, of course. There’s too much work put into this suit from a designing standpoint. Too much thought into every aspect of it, for them to toss it away in the first act or even the first half. No chance in hell as far as I’m concerned. People are in denial. Live with it. It’s the new suit.
I don't know. Not counting The Dark Knight (since only one of the suits was actually new), he changed suits twice in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Those were by no means good movies, but their problems hardly stemmed from his changing of batsuits. He also changed his suit in Batman v. Superman; admittedly, in that instance it was done to service the plot, but at this point, we can't truly say whether or not the storyline here will call for a changing of batsuits.

Usually, I'd agree with you. But since it's been done multiple times in the past, it's less unrealistic to imagine Batman changing suits than any other title character.

It was only done in the Schumacher movies to sell more toys. And you can say the same about BvS , I mean...the title is literally Batman versus Superman. It wasn’t a movie/premise created out of storytelling. Just like Alien vs Predator or Freddy vs Jason.

I just don't think there would've been such an intentional reveal if this weren't the costume he'd wear for the whole film. With BvS, that was just a situational costume change, not like an upgrade to a brand new costume. Plus it was revealed in the marketing.

So my feeling is that unless we see something else in the promo materials, then this is the only costume. And I'm fine with it. The more I see it, the more I dig it.

Thing is, why would he need to change the suit? It looks like it serves the purpose well..unless, however, he get's messed up pretty bad that the suit is no use - burnt, torn, cut up etc.

I can see him having a couple of suits for different things - like I said earlier in the month, he may have a mission where he needs extra 'something' (armour, Ammo, resouces etc) and that could reflect - or... he's going somewhere to break in somewhere and investigate and maybe needs a lighter suit... I can imagine that suit is bulky at best, even if flexible.

I like the idea that under that suit, at least the top half, there is like a tighter fitting top that could be flame proof etc anyways, its all speculation

Batman has had a different suit in pretty much every film he's ever been in (only TDKR carried over the suit from the previous movie). Captain America has a new suit in each of his films. Thor has a new look in each of his films. Superman got a slightly different suit in each Snyder film. Daredevil had minor tweaks in his suit from season to season. Iron Man goes without saying. Heck, even freaking Spider-Man has gotten a new suit in each of his recent films. Whether you love the suit, hate the suit or are somewhere in-between, I'd say it's basically a lock that he'll have a new suit in the next film.

Same point I was making. And even if its not from business stand point for merch, it's also something that the creative team should have liberty to do. Because they may want to improve on the design from an artistic standpoint.

I love this suit and yeah it is a prototype suit. Either he get a small upgrade for this movie or next the movie. I'm shock that some people want a year 2 Batman to be all high tech. You have to start someone like Ironman,Captain,Nolan Batman,Mcu Spidey,Aquaman, kinda Daredevil and so on. I just want to see him in action mix with him investigating and I'll be very happy:yay::batman:

Lol at people still thinking this is a prototype suit.
I have accepted this is the suit. It was always going to be the suit since the first reveal.

Is there a chance this suit can be badly damaged and Bruce has to create another suit? It's possible...

I still think a suit change up is possible even though I like this suit. I’ll definitely admit it’s not what I hoped for. I really thought Reeves was gonna throw a gauntlet down and give us blue and grey. But this suit really helped clue me into the vibe of his world and I dig it.

I somehow have the feeling that if he does get a new suit in the second film, if anything it'll be more Arkham Knight-ish.

Indeed.

Whether it's a substantially different suit is another question entirely.

Yeah, I think the most likely directions we can expect the suit to evolve towards in future films are either more Bermejo-like, more Arkham Origins-like or more Arkham Knight-like.

Reeves has shown us the general visual template of his iteration of Batman- whatever changes happen in design will most likely stay in line with the starting point seen here. That’s how it ALWAYS is for live action Batman, be it Burton, Schumacher, Nolan or Snyder.

Completely agree with that. It'd wouldn't shock me in the slightest if at the end of the series the final evolution of Reeves' Batsuit looked something akin to the Arkham Knight suit (only with a different cowl and a black utility belt) this one already seems like a low-tech version of that suit.

Not a fan of the batsuit, but the only part of it that just plain infuriates me (and I can't believe nobody else is as pressed about it as I am) is that they've gone away with the metal spikes for bare cloth straps instead. Such an iconic aspect of the batsuit being disregarded like that is such tremendous BS imo.

I was a little put off by the suit at first, especially the large mouth opening and the collar, but I must admit: the aesthetics have really grown on me! A toned down version of the BvS suit would've been my ideal, but I like the DIY, utilitarian feel of this suit and it leads me to believe we're in for something truly different and a bit weird with this film and I'm all for it!

The horror.

yea i'm sorta meh bout it but i'll wait and see the final product on how it turns out.
i still think nolan trilogy did it best wit those glove scallops - they showed there was an actual (cool) purpose for them!

Imagine being infuriated by a fictional movie suit?

Aren't they made of cloth in the comics? Sure looks that way at least.

Actually my biggest issue with the suit by far
