The BATSUIT Thread

... I doubt it.

Another thing to consider after re-visiting that leak; the report claims that the suit gets destroyed "very early on" in the film. Which, okay, that clears up my earlier concern that the Mayor's funeral was unlikely to take place late in the film- but what about all of the scenes in the trailer with Batman fighting against and escaping the police force?

I seriously doubt that ALL of that unfolds prior to the bomb going off.
that doesn't require much explanation. my guess the suit could be replaced within the first 45 minutes of the film, which is still considered early in the film. the first murder, funeral, and first interactions with catwoman likely happen in that first 45 minutes. i'm not sure where he's escaping the police in the trailer, but he's likely butting heads with the police force not long after being allowed into the investigation (considering from the looks of the teaser, everyone at the crime scene looks like they distrust him except gordon).

If a "leaker" is playing off of people disliking a suit, and part of what they dislike is that the emblem is metal and doesn't have ears, it isn't a leap to think they'd say that the emblem of the new suit that replaces that suit isn't metal and has ears. It might seem strange that that ended up being true of the logo, but that could just be along the lines of convergent evolution, like dolphins and sharks separately developing a similar shape.
could be absolutely right here, but i don't think there were many gripes specifically about the emblem and the suit. even still, it's a pretty lucky guess to describe the new emblem as fittingly as he did. we'll see.

The emblem detail is very interesting but if you were going to alter that emblem adding ears is a pretty obvious place to go.

Also think about it...like some people said, no ears is like the perspective of a Bat approaching you. Ears = a perspective of a Bat above you/more of a symbol of hope.

Could be overthinking it but I dig it. As Aquaman would say.

Someone also pointed out that he may be handcuffed in that scene. If that's the case it's gonna be pretty badass to see how he gets out of those handcuffs.

Along with the suit evolving and this Batman growing into the role, I'd like to see him progress from an angry, scrappy young Bats to a calm, detached, zen Batman.

We've seen angry Batman quite a bit. In fact most of these street heroes are portrayed that way (Daredevil, Arrow, etc).

I think it would be cool and refreshing to have a Batman who is more of a detached zen monk-warrior. Its more unique and would suit his (source material) training in the older, Eastern side of the world.
Honestly from the trailer I can totally see this Batman evolving into a more Batman Arkham style of Batman.

I like this idea a lot. It would give a kind of internal destination for this Bruce to go to and an arc that would see him become a truly changed man by the conclusion of it, however long the story ends up being. When I look at the trailer, especially the bit with him beating the thug into the ground, I see an impulsive Angry Young Man with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove to the world (and himself). Over the course of the larger narrative that is open to change and smooth itself out as the character goes along, and the suit ought to be symbolic of that.

I would say the leaker lying about the suit being upgraded/replaced in the film is less credible - until we saw the trailer where Batman's suit is literally blown up in the funeral scene.

Seriously - that suit is friggin' toast. That ain't gonna buff out.

I think people are overestimating the damage on the suit. It was an explosion but if the scene of him jumping off the table is after the explosion the suit looks perfectly fine. If any of the scenes in the trailer are after that scene at all it dispels the theory

That's a big 'if'.

Besides, the table-scene appears to be the same day as the crime-scene shots, as the police and Gordon are dressed exactly the same. And the funeral is for the guy killed, looks like.

I mean cops dress in uniforms, they would look the same. I feel that's just as big of an if

New theory: the explosion kills Batman, and Alfred takes his place. And it's just like Adam West Batman where he dresses like himself with a domino mask.

See, I thought about that earlier, but as I pointed out to Boom previously in the thread- I doubt that that explosion scenes happens very late into the film (and said leaker claims it happens "very early into the movie") and I doubt Batman's relationship with GCPD turns sour from being brought on to a crime scene to the point where they're open firing at him within less the span of time it takes for that cathedral explosion.

Both the Bruce and Batman looks remind me a little of the "Field Test" segment of the Gotham Knight animated film. From the front, the collar also reminds me of The Shadow. I kinda wish it weren't rigid armor, but bendy or fabric instead.

i looked into the second suit leaker's post history, and he also described a scene in which a funeral was being crashed 6 months ago. considering a lot of what he said has now checked out, i would say that this second suit leak is credible.

Gosh I hope so...

What other leaks did he mention?

What were the descriptions of the second suit? And is it used in any action scenes or is it just a quick glimpse at the end of the flick?

I doubt all of that. I also LOVE the batsuit so I don’t want to see another one until the sequel. And I doubt they’ll give Catwoman and Batman entirely new suits for one final scene either.

There could be a suit upgrade reveal at the end like in Spider-Man: Homecoming
